With each passing day QPR are being linked with another possible signing and another tweet or quote from Tony Fernandes about how we are in the market for quality players and people who will improve the squad.Bids have apparantly been flying in for several high profile players and some are reportedly close to being agreed, pending personal terms, work permits and fees between the various clubs. All very promising one would think, however I am starting to get the feeling that our Tony is putting out a giant smokescreen, lulling us all into believing we are in for alot of top players, where in fact were actually in for very few or worse none at all.Stop messing about Tony and splash the cash, the time for trying to nick players on the cheap(ala the Goons)is long gone.Put in bids that the other clubs can't refuse,or at least what the players value is worth.I don't expect us to be held to ransom but at this rate were going to end up with no-one.Hughes walked out of Fulham claiming he had been promised funds which did not transpire, you said the funds would be there for the new manager so give him the money and let him keep us up.If you don't we'll be relegated and Hughes will be off,and you'll be stuck tweeting with Joey, the time for action is now!

That's what I've been saying all along. There's truth to how business runs, especially when it's big business like this with agents and players against corporations (clubs), and if anybody was making any moves at all, then we would've heard about it as it's law that they can't be doing business in secret. Names would've been put out, figures would've been floating. But we haven't heard squat. They are not allowed to talk amongst themselves and not let the world know, that would be illegal. Therefore, if we have not heard anything, then nothing is going on.

FFS guys have a bit of patience.Transfers take time. We have had confirmed bids in for Alex, Samba, Pinnear, Onoucha etc etc. Deals are usually not done over night. The new owners are also businessmen. They are not going to throw silly money at players in either transfers or wages. January is a very difficult time to buy players. Listen to Alex Ferguson who has always said he will not buy in January as it does not represent good value for money. The players we want have to be better than what we have. Most may not be available right now. Surely you understand this? and to expect any owners, let alone ours, to splash stupid money about just shows a real lack of common sense.

Spot on NUTS, there is a lot of expectation that has been inflated by the media-hype, the managerial change and the banal Barton tweets. The bottom line is the January window is the desperation window, clubs that are in trouble at the bottom are held to ransom on fees for players that in six months time might only be sold for half that value. Getting the right players is far more important than buying a perceived bargain at this time who may not be a better player than we already have. One or two shrewd loans and a couple of quality signings will be enough to put us in with a chance...

Taye Taiwo looks like he do the business for you, those free kick videos look pretty impressive. Also Hughes must have a fairly good network for players simply due to his relationship with Kia. No wonder Warnock made jealous remarks about it, must open a lot of doors.

What nuts said! Let's wait till the end of the window before we get miserable and negative. Personally I know there's a lot of hype about the Chelsea game but I can't understand why we haven't knocked them out the cup already!!

The January transfer window is there for minor corrections to ones squads. Only clubs who are in the **** or changed their manager (the two often connected) looks to make big changes.

The clubs who have done their jobs in the close and pre seasons won't look to do business, either selling or buying. Clubs can smell desperation and won't sell on the cheap. This is why we find it so diffucult to make transfers happen.

Mark Hughes makes all the right noices about our current squad though, lets not forget that it is them that has to keep us up as we won't be bringing 6-7-8 new players in <doh>

If we manage to get 2 or 3 quality signings that significantly strenghten us then the club has done a very good job in my eyes.

I know someone who worked briefly with TF his thought on the man was - His not one to hide what he wants and is plain straight talking almost to the point of ruthless. He doesn't suffer fools and will change people who don't perform or work towards the same goals as him.

Obviously that just opinion but I get the feeling he isn't the kinda of person to hide things of misdirect.

personally i don't think we need to many players in, what i was seeing sat was a bit of confidence back & organisation & tatics, what we need is a lot of players out.

While it was a great result on Saturday and the players stepped up to the mark, let us not forget we were playing Wigan who are probably the worst team in the league.A better team would have been 2 goals up on us after the opening 10 minutes. We have to bring in reinforcements at the back, with a new centre-half and a striker absolutely vital.Anyone who believes this squad will stay up without improvements is frankly deluded!

I agree we need new players Hammersmith to have a reasionable chance of staying up, and it does seem to be taking time. But usually not a lot happens until the last day or so, and it will probably be the same this time. So I think we have to be patient until 31 jan.

Care to enlighten me? What law are we talking about here? Seriously. I have no idea.

As for your last point, of course bids have been made for a number of players. Refusals etc. by 'vendors' have been well publicised.
