Just watched the game, interesting stuff.

Oxo was a revelation, and looked to link up well with van persie immediately. Someone to be really excited about i feel. I thought his ability showed up whats lacking in walcotts game really. Despite his pace he just doesn't seem to make the right snap decisions. I don't see a football brain to match his athletic talents yet, but maybe time will bring it out.

Van persies goal was lovely, but his reaction to wengers (admittedly baffling) substitution was not right. It was a bizarre and counter intuitive move, but with crowd booing arshavin on, a good captain would go and encourage him, not look annoyed at his presence. His subsequent defending was rubbish, but how much of that was caused by feeling like no one, captain included, wanted him on the pitch at all.

I think Wenger has some crisis management to do now. Oxo clearly didnt agree with his substitution either, the subtext of his comments about respecting wengers decision because of whats he done before suggesting he thought it was a mistake. I hope RVP doesnt leave you, but the need to achieve at the highest level is a ticking clock for the best players, especially if injuries are a on going problem. Arsenal need to find a way to show him a path to glories that match his skills, i hope for you that this happens soon.:emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0100-smile

As a Saints fan who saw both of these players regularly before they left our club I think most of us would say that we expect Chamberlain to outshine Walcott. Oxlade-Chamberlain can play central or on the wing has pace to burn and can cross the ball either footed , as you can see here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GdxEZWXGQw).

I never have thought Wenger has got the best out of Walcott who started as a striker for us. I think he is much better through the centre and struggles for crossing consistency, so I have no idea why he has rarely been tried through the middle.

Ps. please let us have a few more years with our next batch of youngsters, I bet you wish you had also snaffled Bale from us!

  4. Arsene has this inexplicable passion for placing players out of position. If you would like him as a manager please let us know. I'm sure several of us would be glad to make the arrangements ;) He would be great for youth policy .....

Hello Robin van Bergkamp, Wenger already spends much of his time watching our youth set-up, I am surprised he doesn't have a house outside it already; apparently he is also after our England under-18 left back. However, presumably his defensive talents will be overlooked anyway.

I think we have a more than capable manager thank you very much and while I think the Arsenal teams of the early 21st century are the best I have ever watched I am still not convinced that Wenger develops his own youth players from scratch or that he knows what a good defensive buy is (few exceptions).

The fans didn't boo Asharvin but unhappy with sub at a time while Arsenal were on top. Also, RVP was surprised as every Arsenal fans to see Oxo being taken off not that he's personally against Ashavin.
