Well, I was fuming yesterday after that, the drink didn't help, but, I'm calm and now looking into the bigger picture, that might have helped us yesterday.

Fulham destroyed us in the second half, a huge wake up call to that defence who have done so well all season. We were sloppy, Santon was terrible and it was possibly the worst collapse since Lisbon.

However, that would have hurt the players, it was humiliating for them as professionals in my opinion. What do people think then? Is it a good time to play Brighton on Saturday or not?

We have a point to prove, and I really hope we play a strong team that will destroy them so we can gain some self belief again. We need to show that we deserve to be 6th, because on yesterday's evidence it looked like we would be relegated.

I hope this is a wake up call, and we bounce back with two wins in the next two away games.

If Pardew can pick a tactically strong team against Brighton then yes I think we will win it. If he puts a team of youth players out then I'm not so sure.

It was a collapse as you say, and for someone who is relatively chilled most of the time, I dreaded the journey home after that one.
I did see you, you were about three rows in front of me, I've just stated on another thread, you were just out of reach to give you a dig.
Back to yesterday, we were in with a chance, I thought we put out a pretty strong team, second half they were unrecognisable, we could not match Fulhams pace.
I now have an intense dislike of the toad Duff.

The only good to come of Saturday was that, hopefully, Pardew would have learned to never make a tactical change like that again. His change of formation and his high defensive line was the major factor in us getting whooped.

Quite a few former players do, but I wasn't a fan of his anyway, never cared for his dramatics to be honest!

They don't enjoy it as much as he does.

I was surprisingly calm after yesterday, a loss I think has been coming.

Will you be fuming if we lose on Saturday?

And he's even been terrible the past two seasons - hardly even gets a start any more, yet still performs against us!

I let it spoil my entire weekend. So pissed off with what happened in the second half.

I cant believe theres people actually trying to say that the loss is Pardews fault because he changed the tactic and formation of the team. What the ****? If anything it was his decision NOT to change the tactics in the second half that cost us. We were dominating them in the first half, somehow only managed to go in at 1-0 at the break though.

It was because we played a high line and the midfield didnt adapt to Baird and Johnson changing Fulhams tactics that cost us horribly.

It probably has been coming, although 5 is flattering them and there were some awful decisions against us.

You've just got to try and look on it positively though. Hopefully it will be a kick up their arses if they were thinking that we're already a Europa league placed team or something... The season is nowhere near finished yet.

On the bright side; Liverpool, Stoke and Arsenal all lost so we're still where we were. Could have been a lot better though of course.

Hopefully the team go away to Tenerife, reflect on this and come back stronger for another big run of games.

Yeah, we all have days like this. When we done the 'next 6 mat he's predictions a few days ago I put the Fulham game down as a loss. The manner of defeat was disappointing to say the least, but I expected it.

Our next league game at Ewood Park won't be easy with Rovers finding some form. But 1 or 3 points should be on the cards. We'll lose to Spurs and get 4 points from the home games v Wolves and Villa.

Wolves and Villa are ****. I'd be seriously disappointed if we didn't win both.

This! I know it may seem to deluded to a few people, but these are two games at home against two teams, who in my opinion have both under performed this season.

Im starting to worry abit now. I can see a few heads going down after the performance against Fulham. Most likely being Simmo, Willo and Best :/

Sorry but I'm one of those people and my stance won't be changing. With a 433 we were dominating and looked brilliant. For some stupid, stupid reason, Pardew changed it to a 442, resulting in us getting over-run in the middle, Jonas getting little of the ball, and Best and Ameobi having to try and get on the end of long balls.

Don't mention Duffer. I hate that little twat bag if you'll excuse my language. Didn't try while here and loves sticking it up us since he left. The dive on Saturday was a disgrace. We just have to move on from Saturday and the 5pm on Saturday and the 4pm yesterday cheered me up no end! Basically rendered our defeat meaningless if we can put it behind us in our mini league with Liverpool/Arsenal. Be nice if we could have drawn two points behind Chelsea but nevermind.

As soon as the penalty was given, I just knew. Johnson made Santon look like Richard Griffiths.Every time they hoofed it through the middle it looked like they would score, and they did. At the time I was stunned, it was only when we got on the tube I started getting angry.

And I trod in a turd on the walk back through that park.

Was shocked by the turn around 2nd half. Not sure why people putting the blame on Santon, the high line against real pace like Johnson would have undone any defence. Williamson's 2nd half performance was the let down for me.
Me, Ameobi's Zepplin & Pardew's Magical Notepad cried into our beer afterwards until Bolton scored.

Must admit I thought Santon was shocking all day on Saturday, first and 2nd half. But the kid is 21 and its his first dodgy game. The criticism of him and Krul staggers me to be honest. Its one game and even the best have an off day nevermind two young lads with their whole career ahead of them. I thought Pardew got a few things wrong and it was just a bad 2nd half for everybody concerned.

Totally agree, Krul has been immense for us all season, one poor game & fans on his back. Just don't understand that at all.
