With the praise heaped on Brendan Rodgers, quite rightly, and his side following their victory over Arsenal on Sunday, does anyone else maybe see this as a blessing in disguise?

I say this because all of a sudden, Rodgers is being talked up in a similar way to Paul Lambert as a great manager for the future. Lambert is widely regarded as the best young manager in Britain but maybe, just maybe, Rodgers will be the first name on chairman's lists when the time arrives for a new manager rather than Lambert...
 
I agree this is a good thing, anything that helps us keep Lambert for as long as possible can only be good. Pretty sure it suits Lambert and the players down to the ground as well, all seem to much prefer going under the radar and just enjoying what they achieve. Another good thing about our success this season is that I see the list of clubs that could attract Lambert shortening. Now I can only see him going to Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle, Everton (finances depending) and possibly Stoke. While last season almost any premier league side may of proved too attractive a proposition. Currently dont see any of the "big six" taking a gamble on an inexperienced manager.
 
don't think he'd go to stoke! i could imagine leeds going for him if they got up and stayed up - they are still a massive club when they get things right but that could be years off. everton is a possible if they get their finances in order, as is spurs and villa but i can't see any of the really top clubs gambling on lambert - and it would be a gamble for them to take a young, british manager who has only a few months experience in the top flight. personally, and i've said this for a while, i can see lambert staying for a few more years. he's built the club in his own image, the fans all buy into everything he does. he is as close to 'untouchable' as it gets and it would be a risk to give it up quickly while his reputation is still growing. don't get me wrong, if man utd or tottenham come calling, he'd be mental not to take it but it's going to take a monumental offer to prise him away at the moment, so long as we maintain our premier league status <ok>
 
This also take the lime light & presure away from our lads.
Back to back away wins this year & hardly a mention on MOTD ?
All the Swansea "home form" talk can only heap presure on them to keep it up, which we all know at this level is hard to keep going.
Swans for sixth place i say....i'll be happy with 7th ?<ok>
 
Brendan rodgers to replace wenger when the time comes i say! They are certainly both terrific talents in their field and when and where ever they end up they have fully deserved it and the swans fans like us would have their manager leave with our blessing cause they have worked wonders for their prospective clubs. As you say though, the swans and brendan seem to have put alot of media focus onto themselves and have taken it away from us (well what little there was anyway).

Another thing i will say is im praying that capello really does look at the boys from our good selves and the swans cause they fully deserve a call up were they to recieve one <ok>

watching nathan dyer against theo walcott yesterday must have surely made capello think, at least you'd hope it did! dyer is everything walcott should be. in fact, i think walcott gets worse every time i watch him...
 
Walcott has pace... i think thats it!! Nathan dyer is THE stand out performer from the 3 sides promoted in my eyes and fully deserves international recognition...

It is also a bit of a scary thought having swansea with josh mceachren aswell <yikes>

I think their keeper might have something to say about that. I'll be surprised if they keep hold of Vorm during the Summer.
 
The only thing Dyer doesn't have is a place at a "top" club. Sadly that does seem to matter these days. Would love to see an England manager in the ilk of Lambert who looks towards young hungry place rather than over pain has beens
 
Agreed this isn't a bad thing. I also like the swans doing well with us as it's good advert for the championship
Rodgers you'd have thought would end up at northern Ireland

The funny thing As well with him is when he was at reading, my nearest club, they didn't like him and it didn't go well
 
My biggest worry would be the Spurs job. Redknapp is a shoe in for the England job at the end of the summer.

IF Spurs were to come calling nobody could deny it would be a step up the football ladder. Maybe a job in Germany would suit also. Hopefully Lambert is not sexy enough for Spurs and they go looking abroad as seems to be the fashion these days.

agree. with spurs now in a position to challenge for the title, would a manager of lambert's relatively unproven ilk fit the bill for spurs fans? we all know he's quality but they may wish for a bigger name who can attract big name players.

Since I follow Chelsea quite closely, when I say I couldn't recommend him higher, you should understand how highly he is rated, McEachran.

Swans attack looking quite potent now with: Graham, Allen, Sinclair, Dyer, McEachran and Britton

Almost rivals our own: Holt Morison Hoolahan Pilkington Surman Johnson

Look at QPRs and laugh oh so hard: they have a bunch of championship players :D

NO no no no no... Brendan Rodgers is a much better manager. South Wales should be the "Big Clubs" first port of call :wink:
