I'm still positive about the future, but whilst Downing, Carroll and Adam continue to play in the Liverpool shirt I find it hard to look forward to watching that.
Its crazy that all 3 teams competing for 4th are off form. And I'm still keeping positive as best I can.
Adam is a decent squad player and if we were to sell him right now, we would probably get the £8M back for him. I know i'm in a ever decreasing minority when I say this but I still think Carroll will be an important player for us in the coming years and will come good. <fingerscrossed> And onto Downing... Disappointment so far. No doubt about that. His stats at Villa said that he would get 12-15 assists a season. Why hasn't that happened so far?! I'm staying positive for this season though. Big few weeks ahead of us. Could define the rest of the season...
I also have a lot of confidence in Carroll. And we have some big games coming up, which is where our form is actually better, so we should build up some confidence here and back the team.
The performance v Bolton was depressing to say the least, but i'm still positive about challenging for a champions league spot. Get Jay Spearing back in the middle asap and give Adam some benchtime. We obviously need more out of Downing aswell,Carroll needs something to feed off and i still think he can come good for us. Pleased enough with Hendo, shown some nice touches, lots of potential there. Another week or so in the window and i'd be surprised if Kenny has not got something up his sleeve,we do look a striker short at the moment.
I wonder how Jose and Mandy feel at the moment now that they've moved to a "bigger" club I really would love it if we finished above you.
hehehe...truth is that although I'm as gutted as the next guy, I'm a little more patient. Some of the players being written off is a little premature imo. We've only had 3 poor games (where we deserved to lose) this season; Spurs, Swansea, Bolton. Difference is expectation; imo, it's next year that we MUST be challenging for top 4....just my opinion of course!
Tell me you used that last sentence with tongue firmly in cheek Kevin? But yes you are right you are in the fight no doubt; wether you're still in it by the end of the African nations cup remains to be seen. Hopefully our first team spent today cleaning the reserve teams boots.
Think there's every chance we will be. We've got 3 games before Ba , Tiote and Cisse come back. They are Blackburn (A) , Villa (H) and Spurs (A). Don't think 6 points is unrealistic and in my opinion that would put is in an excellent position.
You'd like to think you'll be there. As someone else said: the fact that of our 4 next league games 3 are against spurs, man Utd & Everton that our players will turn up for those games at least. Going on recent games I'd say more likely getting points in those 3 than against Wolves! Lol.
