Hamer - 4 - flapped continuously, we were having kittens in the stand every time the ball went in the air around him - even the BBC reporter mentioned his flapping - and the time wasting is becoming really irritating - after his booking, he was still doing it Solly - 8 - solid as ever, it was excellent decision making to run behind Wiggins when Wiggins was booked so that he became the last man Wiggins - 8 - very composed, not as much threat going forward as usual Taylor - 9 - excellent Morrison - 9 - excellent Hollands - 6 - a bit anonymous, didn't always track back, I wonder about his fitness? Pritchard - 5 - looked a bit swamped, lucky not to be substituted or collect a second booking Green - 6 - a couple of shots, poor or non tackling as usual, no decent crosses, Waggy is unlucky to not be playing Jackson - 8 - the one bit of quality in the whole game, 10 goals for the season now. Put in a decent effort too Kermogant - 6 - not as good as usual, I don't like his rolling around either BWP - 5 - anonymous Subs Russell - in the curent climate, an idiotic challenge to make, whether he got the ball or not. Andy Hughes will be happy though! Haynes - looked quite sharp when he came on As for Sheffield United, they didn't deserve to lose, but created very little, and had few real shots on goal. Most of their near misses were from high balls into the box and Hamer fumbles
I don't like scoring points for players as it's so subjective, but it has to be 9 for Hamer from me who made some good saves despite his mistakes and was let down by the midfield who were light weight. Also Elliott used to time was all the time, funny how he was never picked for it and this is the first time I've ever noticed Hamer do it so I do hope he doesn't follow in Elliott's footsteps.
Killer, at least it seems we were watching the same game - TVR had 9's for Hollands and Kermit somehow !
Individual ratings tend to be coloured by one or two incidents that stick in your mind. For example, I remember an occasion when Hollands lost the ball in their half and didn't run back at all as Sheffield poured forward quickly, which for a midfield dynamo was poor. I wonder if the triplets are catching up on him? Russell's suspension is unfortunate, but I wonder if Stephens is ready to return - it was curious he appeared from nowehere on the bench last week, then disappeared again.
The best midfield display I've seen so far this season was Hughes against Preston which we won convincingly just letting in a few goals at the end. I'd like to see that standard, set-up and style of play again with Waggy/Stephens involved in some way.
Hamer- 6.5 Strong in 1st half Great FK save slightly nervous in the 2nd but still didnt concede -would need to improve if promoted Solly- 9 Strong as usual didnt give them many chances few good attacking runs Morro- 9 brick wall to evans and creswell Taylor- 9 Same as above Wiggins- 9 Like solly didnt give many chances good link up with JJ Green- 6 Didnt do enough for me should of burried those 2 chances maybe feeling less pressure no waggys not on bench Hollands- 7 Went missing in parts Pritchard- 7 Some nice silky skills at points never stops running struggled at end JJ- 8 Great GOAL Good link up BWP- 7 No clear cut chances went back to try and help defence and recover ball definitly no someone who isnt interested Kermo- 7 Again no real chances got a few knocks at points some nice and some not so nice flick ons Haynes- N/A This kids got pace Russel- N/A Dismissal was harsh
Couldn't agree more. We've been most effective this season with Hughes in the team to allow hollands forward. Hughes has his limitations but he's way better suited to our system that either Pritchard or Russell and possibly even Stephens who I think wants to be in the same places as Hollands all the time. Hope hughes is back for Bury game. Wouldn't mind Hayes coming back either to see if he can fire up bWP but it won't happen.
