In fairness mate midfield wasn't our only weakness yesterday. Adam isn't and never will be a holding midfielder and probably never will be a top four standard midfielder, but you can't really blame him for the fact that Johnson was getting raped by Petrov (a man old enough to be RHCs granddad), Enricky looked like he'd just come back from a night on the scag, Henderson played like a frightened rabbit (because he blatantly isn't and never will be a right midfielder), Skrtel and Agger looked like they'd never even met and Mandy seems to get slower by the day. Yes Adam was **** but at least he was trying (very trying). Even though I agree he's not good enough to be a first team regular alongside Gerrard he does look better when playing alongside a proper holding midfielder so I don't mind him being a squad player especially as we didn't have to re-mortgage to buy him.

What does worry me most as you yourself pointed out previously MITO is that this was pretty much our strongest team available and so should have been capable of a far better performance than they gave. Kenny now has to decide how long he sticks with the players who ultimately could cost him his job. How much faith does he have in them and how much faith have they earned? Not a lot judging by what we all witnessed yesterday.

Time to stick Downing, Adam, Carroll in the reserves for a month or two and find out just how willing they are to fight for a place (and put Kelly back in at right back whether that means moving GJ to right wing or dropping him). As I said yesterday there is no way on gods earth that Morgan, Suso or Sterling could possibly have delivered worse performances or less effort than we saw from some yesterday.

Honestly, no, I don't I will be supporting Arsenal today, sorry.

People will find that strange, but I am an ABU, and that includes any foreign team.

And if Utd do win it is always a nice consolation that we are not getting left too far behind in 7th! :)

With apologies to Arsenal4life, I'm not interested in Arsenal and they are far from being stabilised.

As for our buys we have to really look hard at what is happening:

For me Adam is suffering badly from "2nd season syndrome". Henderson is improving but we cannot rely upon him to play at the level we want game after game - too many times he's just like a young untrained colt - which is what he is! The loss of both Lucas and Spearing has robbed us of the ability to move our midfield parings about - which was the basis for Kenny's plans.

Like many of us I hoped that Carroll would improve with a run of games but for some reason he's deteriorating and needs to be withdrawn for both his and our good.

Downing is just not giving the service that he was bought for. His stats for Villa proved his ability to provide width and crosses but they are not being provided for us.

Let's hope that Kenny's words do have some effect!

On the bright side, (if there is one.)

When we beat Man City 3-0 last season, alot of people were saying the same things (with regards effort) about many of the city players.

    Look at them now.

    same defense a short while ago was best in the league... why? god knows but right now ekkny has put down a marker cos he's defended them like eh should have for as long as he was able but when the reward isa "just not too bothered" game with eyes on a semi midweek... kenny's told them but now i want to see two things;

    a) blood and guts for more than just city and utd, or even tottenham. I do not want to see another not to bothered game for the res tof the season... spurs got praise for 19 game sof form since city thrashed them. I want the same commitment.

    b) kenny should go spend this window. He should sed another messgae and buy a forward or a midifielder and just drop someone for the res tof the season.... seriously either adam or carroll should not get a look in.

If there's anyone that should take responsibility for this mess it's Kenny. People used to complain about how Rafa wasted money but my god has Kenny made some horrible signings in the one year his been our manager. Have we improved since Rafa left! I don't think so.

What we need to do now is go back into the market and find good talent. We need two new midfielders, Keita could be vital as he's a winner and can play that Lucas role very well. A proven striker will also do but none of these British players that arehopeless as far as I'm concerned.

You can only sign Players who want to come to LFC, and whether you like it or not, you are also rans in English Football these days.

KD has improved your Squad, what he hasn't as yet achieved is to improve your 1st XI

And that will take evolution, not revolution

So after the dust settles after all the weekends games, we actually only dropped 1 point to one of our rivals for fourth place (Chelsea). I don't class either of the Mancs, or Spurs as our rivals at the moment as too far ahead of us. So not so bad really.<party>
    I'm trying to be positive.
