I'm sure once we finally get a proper player on RW or when/if Sterling breaks into the team, he'll be a CAM for sure. Especially as Gerrard's not getting any younger.

I must say I rate the lad highly, considering how he could of followed suit and flopped like some of the others have.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish had a stern warning for his players after their 3-1 defeat at Bolton.

The Reds were 2-0 down after 29 minutes and Dalglish said: "I don't think the approach was correct. I don't think the way we went about our work was correct.

"If that's the level they expect this football club to play at, they won't be here long.

"The most disappointing thing for me was I don't think they were ready to play the game." Courtesy of BBC SPORT

The defeat against Bolton was as bad a performance as I can remember from Liverpool, Craig Bellamy aside every single player on that pitch yesterday was an embarresment to the shirt. The players looked hungover and completely disintrested. Our results have not been amazing this season, as the league position shows, but there have been signs that we have been moving in the right direction, sometimes you can take a defeat if you can see the players gave it there all.

I was thinking last night maybe Kenny is a bit to soft on the lads, he comes accross as the sort of guy who likes to be liked by the lads. I then looked in on BBC sport and saw the headline " Dalglish warns Liverpool players" Brilliant.

I don't think you can blame this on Kenny, he picked the best team yesterday, and a good formation, at the end of the day, it's the players on the pitch who have to do the business.

I don't really see the point of pointing the finger at individuals either. The whole team where not good enough, simple as.

Lets just hope it was a bad day at the office, draw a line under it and move on.

    Things can only get better.

No point in any knee jerk reactions, let Kenny get to the end of the season, and then he can judge what needs to be done, he has given the players a kick up the back side, hopefully they respond, starting at City......

Edit: Sorry Luv, only just seen this post..........

I was shocked last night. I too went out after the second goal.

I also like Dalglish's response because it shows we're not afraid of getting rid of **** players like Carrot and Downing.

Whoever is responsible for buying them needs a lot of stick too.

Results need to change, but i'm glad Kenny has the bottle to critisize them which Hodgson never really did/could do.

For me it basically says Carroll, Downing, Adam your days are numbered unless you improve imediately.

Carroll has untill the end of the season. Trouble is he's not like a striker short of form who tried really hard and it isn't quite happening (Torres on evidence yesterday), Carroll works hard of the time but isn't showing any form at all.

I've watched 3 odd games with him in and he has been ****e bar the decent knee jerk goal against Oldham - which was capped by a sitter moments later.

We'll see! Short term crap agreed. Things can change quickly when you have the right people in charge and money. We have at least one of those.

At the start of the season I think most of us would have jumped to their defence and disagreed with you wholeheartedly. Now I think most of us can agree with you.

Reactionary quote, and nonesense, could pick plenty of holes in your argument, but quite frankly, can't be arsed. Take a look in the mirror and sort out your own problems.

I agree mate. I wasn't refering to him in my post. I was refering to the fact we do have the ability to change things for the long term. Our owners don't **** about. If the current crop and manager can't cut it then they will be replaced and we'll find people who are up for it.

At the end of the day, the net spend is about two million. So that's it then is it. We sell Torres, buy some new players and then sit around for 15 years and see what happens.

Bullshi*, kenny will wait till the end of the season, reflect, adjust and then look for improvements. How long did it take Fergie to win his first league title? Six years. We are a work in progress, and kenny himself has said we will not accept failure nor will the new owners, who incidently led the Red Sox(?) to victory after six years. You don't just appoint a new manager and wave a wand and voila, you win the league. Takes, time and patience...

I'm not too bothered if we don't get top 4 this season (although it would be very nice), however I wanted to see us fight for it and it doesn't feel like we are. I have accepted that we will probably remain within a shout for it but all I want to see from now till mid May is players putting in a shift and showing their worth before the summer transfer window. I don't think we should rush to buy anyone in Jan, stick to what we got, concentrate on the Cups and build on the team from there.

Arsenal are stablised, liverpool are one year into a rebuild, anyone who thinks we have finished our rebuild does not know Kenny's mentality.

Yeah I would give it untill the end of the season. The longer we're out of Champs Football the harder it will be.

In a sense John Henry is quite ignorant when it comes to judging players - he's the money man who, like us, will judge success by the table and the spread sheet. I fear for those he has relied on to bring in the right players!

I find it highly embarassing we spent so much on Carroll, Downing and Henderson (who is ok). Adam wasn't that expendive so can just be binned.

Carroll and Downing must go for me.

So Kenny Dalglish will only ever buy British players throughout the whole of his time as manager. Fail

Does it worry you that every club Camolli has been involed with, their fans were glad to see the back of him?

However, look at some of the players he brought in at Spurs...

    Bale
Kevin-Prince Boateng (Never really played but a class act now)
    Kaboul
    Modric
    Assou-Ekotto
    Corluka
    Pavlyuchenko
    Berbatov

Not a bad bunch of players imo.

I don't like the role he has. It makes it harder for us to hold the person who bought the players accountable.

It hard to know if its him or Kenny.

Surely Kenny has the last word? But with Comolli I was expecting some Yann M'villa and G Rossi type players brought in. Coates may come to be a fantastic player for us which I hope does become a great piece of vision. Enrique and Bellamy seemed to be just common sense as they were right under our noses.
