A shocking performance today, flapped continuously on crosses. terrible kicking under pressure, the worst of Powell's signings! A brilliant performance by the back 4 to keep their composure when we had a complete passenger in goal today...

we win lose as a team made a couple of decent saves made a couple of errors too but think your being abit harsh.
Anyway he has to take some credit for the best defence in the league

Am sure he'll be the first to admit he had a 'mare yesterday... but disagree totally that that makes him one of Powell's worst signings, think he's done a very solid job this season, we've only conceded 19 all year, and I can't think of a single one of those where I'd put the blame at his door?

I like Hamer. Ben quality all season but shocking yesterday hope it's a one off. And hope he stops time wasting. We're not exactly big on back up keepers so hope he sorts himself out.

Hamer seems to have the knack of continually getting away with his mistakes, but yesterday he was particularly lucky.Agree the back 4 were terrific, a team within a team. Any one of them could have been MOM.

His worst performance for us by miles but if you can't be good be lucky <ok> which blade was it who missed the sitter when Hamer dropped the ball at his feet then blazed it over? McDonald? who we are told is the best midfielder in L1?

There was also one of their blokes who every time he got the ball near our box decided to do a Jonny Wilko and convert for 2 points into the crowd - he was shocking.Liked the look of Quinn though - might be an interesting one to keep an eye on for us if they dont get promoted. They were a good team, passed it around much better than us good fans too and clapped our academy boys at half-time too.

All Goalkeepers have their moments - have you ever seen one who is perfect all the time

Even Peter Schmeichel made a few mistakes

Totally disagree on the negative criticism of Hamer from Killer, would Elliott have done any better and how many goals would he have let in so far this season? I thought their fans were excellent as well, got behind their team with no anti social chanting and looked a good spirited lot. I also liked the way they applauded the players when they weren't invited to do so and if there was game we deserved to lose, it was that one. The midfield were under the cosh and could not compete in the 2nd half with the uptempo passing game Sheff Utd were playing. You can only enjoy luck for so long then get found out, so it's time for CP to bring on subs earlier when the going gets tough, bring back midfielders like Hughes who did so well against Preston home, and stop resorting to head tennis and the the smooth passing flowing.

I was a bit harsh perhaps, but he was shocking yesterday, I'd forgotten that he dropped the ball into the net as well, which was disallowed for some reason!

His kicking under pressure is dubious, he's shanked it several times this season, and he gives me no confidence on crosses.

We have a great defensive record, but that's mainly down to the defence in front of him, I can't think of too many games when he was MoM. If we go up, I'm not convinced he's good enough for the Championship.

I thought that was an infringement, but he didn't let in any goals in though did he. Rather than single out the goalie, the problems stemmed from the midfield putting both defence and Hamer under pressure and they deserved all the credit they're due for shutting shop. I always thought Elliott wasted so much time last season, I hope Hamer doesn't pick up his bad habits and I've noticed him make far better saves as well. Elliot often kicked the ball out for GKs and also panicked at set pieces, still the golden boy can never be at fault.

At least twice Hamer came out to collect the ball and missed it completely. On another occasion he caught the ball then, under no pressure, dropped it at the feet of a United player who blazed the ball over an open goal. Then the "goal" disallowed, so his performance was shaky to say the least. Robbie Elliot is gone, the choice is between Hamer and Sullivan.

Not necessarily. The transfer window is still open, and the loans window re-opens soon. Many a good keeper is idling at a big club as third choice. Sullivan is o.k. as emergency back-up but I don't think he is offering serious competition for Hamer's first-team slot in the way Randolph did for Elliott's.

We have 5 strikers and lots of midfielders, but only 2 senior keepers, both of whom are fairly inexperienced. Experience is very important for keepers, as De Gea's struggles for Man U this season have shown, so an experienced loanee wouldn't be a bad move.

Oh dear well I've seen other goalkeepers do far worse and not much mention of it on here back in the day. There was an infringement in the disallowed goal plus the ball went into the net when clearly offside so no goal given as the flag was up very early. He did make some good saves but was put under pressure by a shaky midfield but I do recall him tipping a venomous shot from their striker over the bar, still that one's conveniently forgotton and saving a free kick. You can't blame the goal keeper for everything that goes wrong and how many goals have been let in the last 3 league games, that's right 0. Elliott was the number 1 GK last season so you can only compare like with like (I'm sure he's enjoying his spectator days at Newcastle) and so far so good as far as Hamer is concerned and he deserves full support not niggly negative criticism.

I've changed my mind (im allowed to do that!) - I take the stance used by the Real Madrid President when asked by a journo 'When are you going to buy a new defender?' said. 'we are Real Madrid, we dont buy defenders' !.
The same applies with us - with our defence , who needs a new goalie ?!
