Appeared to play reasonably well while on. Gave us a 2nd option as a target man also. What did others think of his performance? Would you start him again with HH if fit?

Fitness has to be a worry, he was subbed due to hamstring tweak, as you say he seems to compliment HH better than Jay and we looked to have more up front yesterday while he was on...

Agree fitness is a worry, but I thought he looked good. They're different kind of players but I'd play a fit DJ ahead of a fit Bothroyd any day.

We're not exactly brimming with 20-goal-a-season strikers, until we sign a hit-man we have to try what we have, Both has lost confidence, Macheda is the likely option now until a striker is signed...

Last season would indicate that he knows how to find the net in the Prem. He has been unlucky with injury which has left him lagging behind the rest in terms of fitness, sharpness and probably confidence. He might not be a one cap wonder like Jay but his football CV speaks for itself. I though he did reasonably well yesterday and TBH i would give him a run of games to give him a chance. IMHO Jay is just not good enough. Unlike DJ, Jay has had enough games to prove himself and he has fallen way way short. Jay is the Rob Hulse of the Prem for me.
