Senegal are all over the place, could easily have had two players sent off.

Cisse is on, his first touch of the ball was an immense flick over the head of 2 defenders, his 2nd was crossing the ball perfectly onto the head of Ba who headed onto the bar from about 2 yards out!

    And its now 2:1...Ndoye.

Cisse has looked threatening - decent pace and a looking to get involved in everything!

15 minutes to get an equaliser

Good to see them lose. Hopefully they lose/draw on Wednesday and Zambia win.

The lad who scored one of the goals for Zambia was that guy Mayuka who said he wanted to join either us or Marseille one day

If by some magical reason Senegal go out, do we get Ba back early? Or will he stay with the team? How does it work?

Aha I thought I recognised the name. They were raving about him on the commentary. Looks like a beast!

I obviously want them to do well, but an early exit for Senegal would be brilliant. Apparently the Ivory Coast never really turn up for major tournaments either, despite having a class team on paper. Missed the game but it sounds like Ba and Cisse linked up well?

Sorry Demba, but this result along with the Liverpool result cheered me up no end last night! Judging by the way Senegal defended, they won't get far in this tournament. They've got Eq Guinea next, who will be buzzing after picking up a million dollar bonus for winning thier first game so won't be easy opposition. Zambia were awesome. Very quick, athletic, counter-attacking side. Could be a surprise package.

I've got a good feeling Demba and Cisse will be back sooner than we all thought. (hopefully i haven't just jinxed it btw :))

Cisse wasn't on long. He almost had an instant impact though, bursting into the box and pinging a cross over on the half volley which Ba crashed against the bar with a diving header. Would've been excellent if it went, still promising though.

Senegal's defending was awful. Most of the game was played in Zambia's half, the two Senegal centre halves played high up the pitch but the one on the left always seemed five yards deeper than his partner and they were just getting shredded on the break. Kabala took his goal brilliantly, if they'd had Ba, Niang and Sow up front though it would've been carnage.

Cheers. Senegal have a very odd team, an embarrassment of riches up front (7 strikers in the squad, and at least 4 of them are very, very good), but really very little else. Obviously for Ba and Cisse to win a major international trophy would be brilliant, but we really need those two, I think we're missing a good striker much more than Tiote (because Guthrie is more than adequate cover, whereas Shola is not).

They had M'Bengue, the left back we were linked to playing. First time I've seen him play a full 90 and he really didn't impress. He gave the ball away constantly, something they were quick to edit out of his YouTube compilations. <whistle>
