Yup, said it before and I'll say it again Trouble is by the time Wenger decides he wants him and the tiresome twosome of Gazidis and Law get their act together, it would be time for his testimonial.
Spot on, a really class player. Creative and skilfull enough to play in midfield, strong enough to play as a CF, with quality finishing to boot, plus a monster in the air. Everything we need, so odds are we'll never even attempt to sign him.
Nah i would take dembele over dempsey any day, they are both similar in terms of physique but dembele is far superior technically, martin jol said himself that dembele is just one step away from becoming a world class player and he is in that talented group of belgians that will be a real force for some time to come, i also dont understand why we don't go for junior hoilett aswell, because i honestly think that he is better than walcott and certainly arshavin.
Dembele may have better technique, but we need a class player in the here and now, not another prospect. Dempsey is currently better, so i'd take him in a flash. Or try and get both. We give them Arshavin and some dosh, they give us Dempsey and Dembele.
At the risk of sounding like a mini-Wenger - in March Dempsey is 29. I think we need somebody a little younger. Having said that, Dempsey has that passion and hunger which could see him have a long career.
Why not write an article about how we should sign Messi? About 99% of these players we are supposed to buy, over and over again are clearly not for sale. Every time a player has a good couple of games we get either a newspaper article, blog, or forum post saying we are interested in buying or should buy the player, and that Arsenal are doing something wrong because they don't sign the player. It really is tiresome, and doesn't reflect well on the poster. Try finding a player that would suit us, that is on the transfer list somewhere, or whose contract is expiring. In addition, who are you going to leave out of the team? Where are you going to play him? Are you going to change our entire formation to do it?
Who would we leave out of the team? When are we going to play him? A change in our formation? I'm sorry Toledo but you're beginning to sound like Le Prof. Strange thing is that back in our glory years, why is it that these questions didn't seem to arise or if they did, solutions were found. Right now I think our manager has been running round in circles. He's now somewhat dizzy. Hope you manage to avoid this Cheers
If we continue to bid for players in a skint flint manner, we are unlikely to get anyone we would like. There are times we simply have to get the players who can do the job from the word go instead of wait a few years only to see them depart. Unless of course it is this board's intention that we become a selling club. Trouble too is that we ( Arsene ) has been reportedly taking a long time in arriving at decisions. That coupled with the lacklustre performance of the tiresome twosome of Gazidis and Law do not make for a very sharp transfer policy. More reasons why we need a lot of changes at the club.
While i agree with some of what you said even though it is speculation - what exactly would you have bid for dempsey 15mn , 20mn ?????
Dempsey purely as a striker, yes, I think he is fantastic in the air and holds the ball up superbly, he would be a triffic CF. Midfield ? Do me a lemon.
So drop/sell Van Persie, or pay 30M for a back up? Do you think he would join Arsenal to sit on the bench?
