Forget Arsenal, Spurs, QPR, Fulham, United, City, Liverpool and the lot. None of those games mattered, not at that stage of the season anyway. This Saturday is probably the biggest game we have played out of the 30 or whatever it is so far. With an early kick off this marks a huge opportunity to deliver a psychological blow to all the teams in and around us in the table. Whilst I do not believe Newcastle or Liverpool can realistically finish above us, they can't yet be discounted. I can't remember the last time so many of our rival clubs have been involved in such difficult games or against each other Saturday Fulham vs NEWCASTLE - Without Demba Ba and of course the potential backlash from Fulham to come after a humiliating defeat to Blackburn this won't be easy. Fulham at home are a top team as Arsenal found out. I can definitely see Newcastle dropping points here. Bolton vs LIVERPOOL - Bolton are a poor team but Liverpool without Suarez look impotent and seem to have no other major goal threat bar Bellamy and Gerrard. Without Lucas they do not look as defensively sound. Bolton have a tough run-in but I believe in law of averages and somewhere along the line Bolton will pull off a major scalp. Late kick off as well. With Arsenal to follow and tough away games round the corner before trips to us and City this represents one of few chances where Bolton can realistically pick up points in the next 6-8 weeks. I'm sure Coyle will have drilled that into the players Sunday Man City vs SPURS - Spurs have done well to be in the position they are, you have to give them credit for that. But they are proven flat track bullies and they are going to be found out once they play top class opposition which is exactly what City are. Nobody should be fooled by the media propaganda who claim Spurs have a realistic chance of winning this game. Conceivably they could get a point, but without Adebayor and King they are not the same team. For once Bale and Lennon are going to come up against their equals in Richards and Clichy. Clichy is as quick as any full back in the league and Richards is like an ox. Bale won't be able to dominate him like he has with most right backs in the country. I can only see one result here and it's a comfortable 2-0 City win ARSENAL vs MAN UTD - United are not too far ahead of us and with a home game against them still to come I would not rule out our chances of catching them yet. This would be nice if we could of had 7 red cards and the match abandoned but that's unlikely. Both sides are struggling at the back and I see goals in this one. I would not be too disappointed with any result. After all who doesn't like to see Arsenal or United lose? Neither side can afford to draw because no matter what happens with our game or City's a chance to make up ground will have been lost All of the games above should be enough to show the players how important this weekend is. Win on Saturday and we are laughing and can kick back and enjoy the others kicking lumps out of each other. 5 points behind United? 3 points behind Spurs? 7 points ahead of Arsenal (and Newcastle)? 8 points ahead of Liverpool? Yes please It would be typical of Chelsea to screw this up though by losing or drawing to Norwich
In the style of District Line.. Norwich vs. Chelsea Norwich are in good form at the moment, and are often at their strongest in the New Year. Have failed to score only three times this season and, despite losing to both Spurs and Arsenal at home, they will see Chelsea as a potential upset. Lost just three times at home throughout 2011, which, while not being an outstanding record, shows they are certainly hard to beat. Do not expect a walkover.
No Chelsea fan expects a walkover. In truth we were lucky to win at the Bridge and Norwich could conceivably have won the game at 1-1, Ruddy should never have been sent off. I expect a tough game but we are better away and unbeaten since the QPR defeat (on the road) so I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't confident.
Going to be a ****ing hard game especially away, hopefully we can somehow get a win vs them and against Swansea, and hopefully the yids and arsenal lose this weekend aswell
typical way for us to screw up is when moanu gets f#Cked up and we play next... but this time we are playing before those games - so hope we can make up rather than screw up..
I'd say the Newcastle, Spurs and Valencia games were more important but I see your point. I think this will be tight but hoping we can nick it obviously and put pressure on the rest.
Branna is back, and with Cahill starting on the bench, I feel we can be a lot more solid at the back. Drogs and Kalou apart(and I think we can cope without them) we have the full squad to choose from! I'm feeling positive, for a change! Just need Sherrif to forecast a home win now and its in the bag!
Let's hope Torres can finally start delivering one year on, repay our patience and start striking winners this Saturday. If he rediscovers his scoring boots, and bangs in say 12-15 goals between now and May, we can even have a little run at silverware. We can't carry him again, like we did last season and expect to charge from fifth to second with ten men
