I hope it's not true, but part of me has always wondered if it would be better for the fans to form a phoenix club and start again from bottom of pyramid. How else can they get out from under this mountain of debt. But there would be a lot of pain before that.

You would fill the 80,000 seats EASY as well harry. I have been to England Scotland games, even saw you boys swinging from the Wembley goals and Celtic and Rangers brought thousands down to the Dell many years ago in i think the Texaco Cup, so no one will doubt your great support.
Just cant understand your hatred of the English in the 21st century. Time you all moved on.
I Hope i am still around to see Southampton and Portsmouth in the Premier League together again and who knows some where down the bottom of the league a couple of scottish teams.

The Portsmouth news is not good if correct........Strewth you have to be a faithful fan to still be supporting them. They seem to be doing their utmost to destroy their fan base not to mention the club. Sad sad news indeed.

I so hope Pompey survive. It wouldn't be right for them to go.

As Fran says, maybe a re-start. It worked for Aldershot, but wouldn't want to seem them have to start from the very bottom like the shots did.

As for loaning them the money.... that isn't such a bad idea. Get us top of the creditors list or get it under written by the Football League or PFA and what a message that would send out to other teams.

I really dislike Pompey for more reasons than just me being a saints fan, but I would never want to seem them liquidated.

Totally agree FLT but if the worst happened imagine the potential catchment area for Saints. OK a lot of skates would never transfer their allegiance but the floaters would.

To be honest I wouldn't want to catch the floaters because their club closed down. I don't think it will.......If the floaters want to come along let it be because they are truly interested in Saints and not because there's footy going on on a Saturday afternoon. We want Genuine football fans not just fans that like football......As I said though can't see Pompey going down the pan personally.

Bull ****. They Have offers for assets that can be sold. The best thing for the club is to get someone in, get rid of all current staff over £5k p/w and take the relegation hit like we did. Move away from Fratton and ground share with someone for a while whilst the club rebuilds. I honestly can't see them going out of business as they have assets to sell before they get that far.

If some fans can pull something together then it must be possible to get an FC United style team and start again even if the current Pompey set up survives. With this Andronniku fella as administrator I don't see the next owners being anything reputable. He reminds me of the lawyer character from The Wire who surrounds himself with the criminal classes.
Any new owner of PFCs brief will be to get money back to Chainari as quickly as possible and it would be quicker for PFC to start again, than to sink lower and lower and try to rise back up

    Hero is right.
The only way out is if Balrog loses some money. All the time he plays pass the parcel it just damages the club more. This cancer needs cutting, & it will be painful.

thats is just a wrong point of view in my opinion Lamballana. It's not a time for gain or one upmanship. It's a time for some authorities to sort the administrative and financial nightmare out. I don't want any Saints gain from their situation, no matter how they gloated at us in the past or not.

I would be very surprised if ANY Pompey fans changed their allegiance to Saints if the worst happened.
It wouldn't take all that long for an AFC Pompey or the like was set up and that would attract the hard core. In the meantime, the fair weather fans would probably find some-thing else to do at the week-end and the gates at Gosport Borough and Havant & Waterlooville would probably see a rise.

I don't see them liquidated either but I do see bad times ahead for them. Although, as they owe £1.6m of taxes, I'd think the HMRC would be out to get them this time, having failed last time. Surely another points deduction is on the cards, at least?

However...as for Fratton Park, I know a (sensible) skate fan who says that the city council have stipulated that the Fratton Park site is not to be used for anything other than a sporting venue, so they can't sell it anyone for redevelopment.

This reminds me of how fortunate Saints are...not a gloat, just a fact.

As a football fan, I'd really like to see Gaydemak crying in the car park at some stage. Maybe as they pull the deeds from his grasp, afterall, he started these disasters circumstances.

This. Any Pompey fan who just changed their allegiance to Saints, never had an allegiance to change in the first place. I support Saints because it's the city of my birth. I can foresee that if I moved longterm to another city, I might adopt the local club as Mrs Fodder has done (her Dad is a Charlton fan) but I would no more become a Pompey fan than a Reading one. They have a good stadium and it's quite close, but that is not the point.<ok>
