i really looking forward to seeing minsk jump a hurdle he could be very special. However so could dildar, his flat form is excellent only finishing five lengths behind pour moi. I think the winner of the triumph will come from one of these two unraced horses, and i have backed them both.
When is the Adonis, gents? Like Quele, I will be using that as a big pointer for undertsanding the form in context.
Mr Nicholls was asked during his Q&A session via tweet who was the main danger to Big Bucks this season, his reply was Five Dream and Oscar Whisky! Five Dream currently 40s in the market however in the market without Big Bucks you can get 12s with a couple including Billys (even though they are not quoting him on oddschecker!). 1/4 first 3 without Bucks is a very very nice bet indeed if you watch the last 2 races, ridden from the back to pick up the non stayers, hopefully snatch 2nd but deffo 3rd or 4th for a profit, one of my favourite bets!
Sounds a nice bet to me GDC. Just had another nibble on Sir Des Champs at 65 & 60 on Betfair for the RSA. Mullins said a week ago that he has 3 options coming up next for more experience, and that he is "a stayer but has a high cruising speed". He might end up running in the Jewson though knowing my luck lol. At that price though, felt it was worth a nibble.
Don't think Betfairs Antepost markets are NRNB Wooly. Were you referring to my bet or GDCs World Hurdle bet?
Champion Bumper - 2pts win THOMAS EDISON 16/1 NRNB LADBROKES I don't usually like backing in the bumper Ante Post but this is a horse I really rate. Closely related to Celestial Halo and Aidan O'Briens 3yo Devotion Thomas Edison has shown plenty of ability in three career starts so far. Judging by his name and price tag I have a feeling this one may have been unraced with Aidan O'Brien on the flat but I am not 100% sure - anyone know ?. I put this one up at 25-1 on debut in a hurdle race at Down Royal (backed in to 12-1), he looked as if he had a serious engine that day and did very well to finish 3rd as he was as bad a jumper of a hurdle I have seen in a while. He tanked in to the race but I think the mistakes cost him dearly that day. There was no obvious excuse for finishing 3rd in a bumper next time out but this was still a solid effort as his SP was 10-1. However my thoughts are that he was not 100% that day as he easily swept aside a horse that had finished in front of him that day beating him 11 lengths in to fourth (had been beaten 8 lengths by that horse on his second start). The more impressive thing about his victory at Leopardstown was the distance between him and a highly regarded Willie Mullins horse in 2nd (had been fav for the champion bumper prior to this ). He defeated him by a comfortable 4 1/2 lengths and was perhaps value for a bit more. I expect this horse to keep improving and I would imagine the Champion Bumper would be the target as this horse clearly needs more time before going hurdling again imo. He has already proved he has a serious ammount of talent and I would be hopeful he will run a big race if he turns up in March.
I have just watched the 2011 Gold Cup again and am considering two outsiders for a substantial each way wagers: What a Friend - 40/1 NRNB - Totesport China Rock - 100/1 - Stan James The above seem to be intended runners. I am also interested in The Minack at 80/1. This price for NRNB is 25/1 however PN states this could be a runner if the going is soft. Is it worth a chance at the vastly bigger price? Views please.
bayern, i am on what a friend ew as i was last season when he very nearly caught kauto for 3rd, he has been trained for this race and could easily get a place mate
A horse that I have been waiting to back and I had the privilege of a morning at Seven Barrows yesterday. The Neptune is the target for Simonsig and the yard is confident that he will beat Fingal Bay. He rates a superb bet at 14/1 EW with Skybet. Simonsig - Neptune - 5pts EW at 14/1 with Skybet
I was watching a load of the star names canter up the hill and there was a new horse in front. Nicky turned and asked the Owner whether it was any good because he had a few good ones in behind and didn't want them doing nothing if the new horse struggled up the hill. He said "Binocular who's good, Oscar Whisky who's good, Simonsig who's very good". I kid you not. Make of that what you will. Let us just say that he sounded more bullish about Simonsig for the Neptune than anything else.
Zenyetta: thats awesome news mate, I've backed Fingal Bay at 8s EW but cannot see him winning at all so will trust what you heard and lump on Simonsig, cheers
Zen: It's cool mate, was looking for something to back in this race so your info is good mate, if it fails or goes to the Supreme no worries
Goo dinfo that Zen - doesn't matter if it turns out to be no good, it's more info than we have available to us, it's up to us how we interpret NH comments. By the way, slid for Spirit Son out to 21 on betfair, worrying if you;re a backer already I'd suggest....
I can also say that I wouldn't be backing Spirit Son for the Champion Hurdle. There was definitely something amiss with him yesterday but I'm not sure what. Henderson was very quick to avoid questions on the subject after winning at Ascot.
