See Lenny has admitted we are in talks to sign him up permanently, imagine a fee was part of the loan deal so we just need to discuss it with the player.

Wasn't impressed when I heard we'd got Newcastles 3rd choice keeper on loan! (On loan ffs!)

To be fair he impressed me last year, there was the odd error & you were never really 100% confident in the guy but overall he was fairly sound.

This year he has greatly improved, looks far more confident in himself & all round game is still improving - apart from his kicking which is awful!!

I think its a good move for the club, it fits in with our signing policy of nuturing raw talent at a cheap price & selling high when the time is right. The fact England have very few young decent keepers would suggest this guy will have a chance further down the line of making an England squad should he keep improving at his current rate & that will mean big figures if/when we look to sell him on <ok>

He's pish, takes an age getting down to low shots, comes for **** all, he's a ****ing giant he should be grabbing loads of stuff out the air and I won't mention his kicking.

P.S. why is it the only time the **** came aff his line Cha scored an OG? So players can't understand him either get him to ****.

Wasnt that impressed last season to be honest. Been more impressed this year

still not convinced he is or will be that good - but he's still very young in terms of a keeper - so hopefully he'll continue to develop

No idea what fee we are paying

Dunno who we could afford who would be better so makes sence i suppose. Can only assume that the scouts have been looking at keepers for the past 2 years though - and assume we cant get anyone better. thats where we are as a club i fear

Been a bit hard on him there , has improved and at 23/24 is still young for a goalie , his display in Rennes 2nd half and Udinese showed he could be top class , and his save against the huns after hitting the post will be remembered for years to come

I wasn't a fan of the big guy last year.

Got to be fair, this season he's been brilliant - he had no chance with the United goal on Saturday and made a few great stops.

I think he's getting better and better with every game - last season I was on his case about how slow he was, how he didn't command his box at set pieces etc etc

It seems to me, though, that he's improving on these things all the time and he's only young - if we keep a hold of him (and I despaired when we loaned him for a second time), he may well become Joe Hart's only serious challenger for the England jersey.

Seriously, if he keeps improving on the aspects of his game that he has done, he has the physique and the reactions to be a genuinely brilliant keeper.

I didn't like him first time round but I have to credit Lennon - I think he's seen a great keeper in the making when all I could see was a guy who was slow to get down and not confident in owning his box - he's improved on both these things this season <ok>

He made an arse of the United goal on Saturday, he should have stopped it.

C'mon Tam, it was right in the corner and a bullet - he made at least two quality stops (one from a header and one at the near post) that I can remember at 2-1 that essentially secured the extra 2 points for us (they were up the other end of the ground, admittedly)

Not suggesting he will ever replace Joe Hart.......but if you see how England have struggled to name 3 keepers in their squad recently you can see him getting a shout.

At 23 he is really young for a keeper, so many of them are playing until their 40's now so for him to have so many games under his belt is good - as has been said he has improved so much from this time last year, keep playing him & hopefully he will keep imrpoving.

Lenny & the scouts will know ideally he is one for the future but the cost to get him permanent & sign a more experienced number 1 on top of wages is not realistic. As anport said we've had 2 years to find someone & there is nobody out there value for money wise who could replace him.

We not just turned £6m down for Hooper?

The policy is under Lenny to get young, raw talent in, players hungry to play & progress...........if they become great players & the team do well other clubs will put in bids for our players ie Hooper. Its good we are turning these bids down so far but if someone offers £10m in the summer would we say no?

There have been offers for Ki, talk of anything from £4m to £6m.

We do not need to sell so we aren't but when a silly offer comes in we will take the money look to replace with a similar young talent & help strenghten other areas.

He's not brilliant but he's improving. I don't recall any real howlers (cha own goal aside which was a simple lack of communication) but I agree that he is sometimes a little slow to get down. To be fair, at other times, he's pulled off genuinely top quality saves.

I wouldn't be too unhappy to see him sign.

I agree. For the sole reason; Who can we get who is markedly better than Forster for a fee we can afford?

    Probably no-one is the answer.

I am like Harry, he has so far done all that could be expected of him, last season he was part of the defence that set a record for number of clean sheets in the SPL.
Considering many posters don't rate the centre halves we had last year, or this year either that is some achievement.
This season the defence including him went through a nightmare time in which they were conceding almost every game. Now thankfully the soft goals have dried up and he has made some super saves as good as any efer seen in Celtic Park.
It is easy to sit at home and criticise, that warrants very little talent, however I have to say Scot Brown was the man most to blame for the goal UTD scored at week-end, as he raced away from a player to the player big Victor was covering. The Utd player rolled ball back to where Brown was and a "brilliant fluke shot" swerved in off post. Big Forster's kicking hasn't caused near the grief that is spoken about, a goal came off it against Rangers, but there are very few goalkeepers whose way-word clearances do not cost one goal every season. One of our difficulties is that we see every clearance of the Celtic keeper but we only see the clearances of every other keeper for a few games.

You also have to consider the fact that as a defender you would not be confident in passing the ball back to him & you end up having an extra touch and either losing the ball or conceeding a corner/throw in/freekick when really the ball should have been punted in to the oppositions half.

Just needs more time on the training ground punting balls.
