Celtic fans create an atmosphere unseen anywhere else seen in British football , as said by some of the greatest footballers who have ever lived , how could Hooper go from that to empty seats , rustling empty crisp packets and people more interested in taking photos than watching the football , stop living in a dream world Southampton fans , I used to think it was just a dot on the map , now I hate you because of your idiots coming on our board

Yeah, I'm struggling with this one too. I'm guessing he's drawing comparisons between journeyman centre-half Jos Hooiveld who failed to get a game at celtic (or any other decent club he's been at) with EPL-winning Chris Sutton who averaged a goal every 2.5 games over the course of 8 years in the 'world's greatest league', before winning 7 trophies at Celtic, reaching a european final, scoring against the likes of Juventus, Barcelona etc etc.

    Baffling.

Sutton was in the form of his life with us.

A hundred times the player that the likes of Heskey and other muppets picked for England ahead of him at the time were.

Neil Lennon is quoted this morning that Southampton have not made a 3rd bid.

Typicla ****e journalist from the ****e Daily Record reported yesterday that a third bid had been made. ( Well he's not really a journalist, just an amateur who makes up stories)

    I know who I believe!

I'm sorry but Chris Sutton was poor. He was lucky to make his name playing alongside the most prolific goalscorer in recent times in Alan Shearer during his prime in a team bank-rolled by Jack Walker's millions. Every where he went after then he was poor apart from Celtic. I wonder why that was? Probably due to the fact the standard was a big pile of wan!k.

Djimi Traore won the Champions League... doesn't make him a world class player.

Quite obvious you Southampton fans havn't a clue about football , go and ask Shearer and Larsson how good Sutton was, I coudn't give a fck what he did at other clubs , with our beloved world famous hoops on , he was one of the best to ever wear it . Go and ask anybody living abroad what colours Southampton play in ?? They will say , who !!!!

He was a star at Norwich. He was a star at Blackburn with said prolific goalscorer citing him as the reason he scored so many goals. He had one poor season at Chelsea where he was used sparingly and often played in the wrong formation under Vialli.

He was then very successful at Celtic, scoring important goals in the Champions League and helping us to a UEFA Cup final.

Frankly, all you've done with this is highlight how ignorant you are about Celtic, Chris Sutton and football in general.

Are the majority of English football fans this insular-looking?

It's pointless arguing with them in this case - just leave them to their mortgaged, unsustainable "best league in the world" and watch with hilarity when it does a Serie A-style top-heavy implosion, the Arabs, Russians and Yanks pull their cash and all their tinpot ****ey teams who think their world-beaters "do a Portsmouth" <ok>

So you're telling me you think the standard of the SPL is good? If that's the case you are very wrong.

Taking his stint at Celtic out the equation he averaged under 9 goals a season. Oh well done, give the lad a biscuit.

    Yes and that same majority are also complete ****ing spastics who will swallow whatever little red pill that their media throw at them;

"We're going to win the World Cup 2010, we've even booked a big party in London" Pumped 4-1 off Germany

"Man Utd will have too much strength and power for Barca" Pumped twice off them in CL final

"Rooney is the best player in the world" <laugh> <laugh>

"Best league in the world" Southampton are in the Championship <doh>

Your ignorance is highly amusing. <laugh>

According to you, Lippi's Juventus were a pile of **** (you know the team that included Del Piero, Trezequet, Nedved, Thuram, Buffon etc etc and against whom Sutton scored a double in a 4-3 Celtic win). And Barcelona were **** too (against whom scored in a 1-0 win). To be fair, he also scored against diddy english teams when we played them in europe too. In fact all 16 goals he scored for us in european ties were against diddy teams.

And I think he made his name at Norwich actually dumbo. Scored 28 goals in one season for them (25 in the EPL). That was the reason he made his name and that's how he was the first £5m transfer between british clubs. He also managed to score 18 EPL goals for Blackburn in 97/98 (and won the EPL golden boot that season too), after Shearer had left so managed perfectly well without him. His only poor spell was at Chelsea.

Where did I say or even imply that <laugh>

    You're a *****.

The wages that your and other English based players is not funded by a natural income source like gate receipts or merchandise like ours - they are based on the combined efforts of a foreign owner playing with your clubs like a trainset and an Aussie nutcase's broadcaster.

It's unsustainable - I didn't mention the quality of the SPL but you're ready to disregard Sutton's performances against the likes of Juve, Barca and some Liverpool mob we cuffed (last time I checked - they were in this magical league you aspire to and are a slightly better team than yours), shows that you are very, very insular looking.

You are only world famous because you have a tradition of winning trophies in a tin-pot league. Yes, you have won the European Cup (at a time when Scottish football was credible) and regularly play in Europe as a result of normally finishing 2nd in a two-horse race... I'm sorry but I'm not going to give you credit for that. Yes, you have also recently competed in the UEFA Cup final but so have Fulham and Middleborough and on that point even the UEFA Cup final was 10 seasons ago.

A good thing to draw comparisons on with your clearly massive, world-renowned club.

When were you last in a European Final since it's so easy?

Oh, right, that's right - playing in "the Championship" (sic) is a higher quality than the Europa League <laugh>

That's why the top two teams in the EPL are in it - cos they're ****er than "the Championship" <laugh><laugh>

It's not a question of being insular looking. The majority of Sutton's matches for Celtic were in the SPL. The majority of which, your players are able to stroll through and still win convincingly due to the utter dearth of anything remotely approaching "quality" in the league. I dare say your players are a lot fresher when it comes to these big games against teams that play in competitive leagues such as England, Spain (2 horse race yes, but not comparible to Scotland), Italy, France and Germany etc... so it is only natural they'll put up the odd performance against the big teams. This is also evidenced by the fact you regularly no-show against sides from lesser nations such as Switzerland, Denmark, Austria etc...
