Sometimes a great tackle is better than a goal.

Whenever I play Sunday League football in my local area, we use motivational quotes in the changing rooms before the game begins. Here is a quote I commonly used before games: Sometimes a great tackle is better than a goal; as I stated above.

It's primarily a disgrace that foreign football players are constantly diving in the Premier League ruining a beloved sport in England. They're evidently trying to eliminate tackling out of the game and it saddens me to be honest. It's not just unfair decisions that are undeservedly ruining the game; the diving and face-clutching are also occurring more regularly now.

The referees' decision during City's most recent game against United was clearly an irrational decision seeing as Rooney influenced him by approaching the referee whilst bawling - if that wasn't bad enough, the FA then refuse to overrule it and the defendant has to serve a four-game ban.

For the record, I don't think Johnson's tackle on Lescott was a red either, I reckon Mancini has a fair point about consistency and I can't blame Rooney for trying to gain an advantage for his team by running to the referee.

The main problem is this crackdown on any sort of physical contact in football. For me, it's taking out a vital part of what makes the English game so great and so unique.

The supporters love to see a firm, and of course, a fair challenge in which one player wins the ball from the other and keeps the game going at high speed - players love that, too. When you're looking for inspiration, a clean but crunching tackle can gee your team-mates up.

I hope I'm not the only one who doesn't want us to go down the route of countries like Spain and Italy, where physical challenges are virtually outlawed. Football has got to be about more than just skill.

Another well constructed and thought out thread ruined by lunatic poster. When will the moderators on here actually take action against those whom ruin articles? I'm sick and tired of it!

The moderators do not like you Hizmo, it is not hard to understand. They think you are a "bellend". This is probably due to the fact you usually start threads that are just ****ing stupid and looking for confrontation. They, like me can see through you, you are as they have said a "bellend"
