At the Bremner Statue. Wish I could have been there, but a big pat on the back to anyone that did. A few pictures from Twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/search/#batesout/slideshow/photos Hopefully there will be more protests and activism in the weeks to come. Action at last! BATES OUT!
What fans need to do is stay away from a home game. An empty stadium will hit Bates pocket (ok, and the teams) but it will make Bates take notice, and generate bucketloads of headlines. Just one gamne for starters, and if there is no reaction, repeat the performance. The fans are paying for this farce, so they just have to refuse to pay to watch their team be slowly dismantled.
Let's hope fan power can work, unfortunately KB is a stubborn old git and I don't think he'll give a toss.
What KB needs to be asked is what the fee was. All of ours seem to be 'undisclosed'. So it hides how much is going through ER and where it is going, which is bleedin' obvious to all of us. I'd like to hear him put on the spot about it though. Preferably the one marked 'X' which shows where the anvil is about to land.
I've been saying that for months but get the same old reaction. How would it, there is no money put into the team and we rarely win a home game anyway. Fellow Leeds fans, act like men for once. Do not hand over any of your cash to bates and he will eventually **** off
More pictures here, very good turnout at such short notice: http://karlwilsonphotography.co.uk/...ad-ken-bates-protest-19-01-2012/#!prettyPhoto
He was in Cardiff tonight. Sky Sports didn't show according to bates-out.com who arranged the protest, and the tone of the message implies that they were contacted.
That's a pity, we need to get them on board, they are a powerful media in football and watched by millions around the world. Isn't one of the presenters a Leeds fan? Iain Payne I think.
Yes Iain Payne is a Leeds fan, as is their online editor and one of their online article writers, both of whom can be found on Twitter.
The problem of course may be the Sky contract agreement with Leeds and the other teams in The Championship, they might not be able to show too much of any protest, as this might give Bates the right to ban them without any repayment for money given by Sky.
They're legally entitled to film whenever they want, I think. Part of their contract with the Football League. They certainly had no reservations in filming the demonstration before the Boro game earlier on in the season, and showed clips of it on Sky Sports News. I'm sure they'll be there on Saturday.
Sky did report on the protest (web site): http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11715/7442115/Leeds-fans-plan-Bates-protest
BATES WILL only take note if its to do with MONEY BY REFUSING TO GO TO GAMES WILL HAVE A VERY TELLING AFFECT ON THE CRETIN
Protests will too, Leeds60. Look how angry he got at the one at the start of the season. He gets mad when people chant 'Bates out', giving them the V sign at one game.
