Then the thread is a bit stupid comparing a player who has been doing it at club and international level for years to a player who is just now coming into his own.
depends where he gets played. also forgot to mention peter crouch who has a good record of scoring for england but in the EPL :/
Stupid question - Sturridge easily, his not a cheater like suarez or a racist like suarez, his also faster, more skillful, suarez is the better finisher though but sturridge has much more qualities to his game
They've both been playing regular footy in the PL for just under a year now, compare their stats in that time. Sturridge has scored 17, Suarez has scored 9 . Oh and Sturridge has made 2 less appearances
and I am agreeing that Sturridge is quality! Just not as good as Suarez Ok, bringing internationals into might not be fair or a bit daft, but Suarez was named player of the tourney in Copa and scored some big goals for them in the copa and WC. Top level stuff is what I am getting at and I hope to see Sturridge doing the same for England. Carroll to be better than Sturridge? Unless he changes or we change his career is going to hit a plateau.
Come on mate, like I said Sturridge has only been playing regular 1st team football for under a year. Suarez probably for 4 or 5. England is a lot harder squad than Uruguay to get into, especially under Capello! You have to compare them both in the premier league in the time they've been playing which is around the same amount. Suarez has the wow factor and is world class on the ball, Sturridge has been a lot more effective though.
Im on about career totals as far as goals are concerned, they both started senior football in 2006. One has scored well over 100 goals including a few at international tournaments(WC & CA) and the other about 30 in league football.
