what people forget is some of thes countries, incredibly, export food to us in Britain yet dont have enough to feed the kids for the very crops they can actually be working to grow and export This is the side of aid and capitalism people just dont have a clue about Whats more unfortunate is the push to forget foreigners and give locally, the onky reason for this is because charity is BIG business now. A person in town can sign 2/3 people up for £2 a month and earn £15 Some companies pay people £9/£10 an hour to canvass for them Cancer charities are 'forced' to keep shtum but would tell you that under their name a lot of people are making millions, yet they only see hundreds
But it's hard to donate to africa, especially the west of Africa, because any financial aid is usually pounced on by a corrupt government. I agree with those who've said they won't donate, i prefer to give money to charities based in britain, or those who do useful things, like the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research etc.
McMillan cancer charity provides nurses, counsellors, day centers, free fixtures and fittings for disability. Bunch of scamming bastards eh?
