Are we playing Barcelona or something? Some of these Swansea fans appear to be very confident...

This is a very winnable game and a team in the bracket of teams of getting points from, they are an average team just like us and with the way we play we should have no problem in keeping the ball......this could well be our second away win on the bounce....

I should imagine that Sunderland will do everything they can to make sure we don't keep the ball. If they succeed, we lose. This will be a tough game but one which we could win so long as we get 100% from the lads. Anything less will see our recent resurgence hit a brick wall. I will be delighted with a draw to be honest.

    Excellent article, first up.

We are far from a direct side, I have no clue where that has came from, we move the ball quick, but short, and to feet.

Swansea are a good side and a pleasure to watch, last week was superb, enjoyed every minute of watching them.

We'll win this game, i'm 100% confident on this, but please Swans lads don't take this as a slur or arrogance, I just feel that physically we have the edge, and a buoyant crowd thanks to the MON factor will help carry the lads over the line.

I'm going 3-1 the lads, and a comfortable survival at seasons end for Swans <ok>

well, unless MON has a holloway style complete change of philosophy, i think its reasonable to assume he will continue with his direct tactics he used at both celtic and aston villa, we're all allowed to dream though <ok>

We simply don't have the players to play that way mate.

He may change it, but as it stands, we cannot play that way, simple.

Well if some are confident we have a right to be. A run of good results and we are playing really well. Some of us are a bit more realistic though and that's why I'm predicting a draw. But don't confuse confidence with arrogance. All of us know this'll be a tough game.

Someone else mentioned our lack of a proven striker at this level may tell. Personally, I'd take Graham over Bendtner any day, but maybe that's just me.

There is not much of a history between our clubs, but my abiding memory of one particular game was Swansea beating us in the last game of 60-61 or 61-62 season so we lost out for promotion to the then 1st div even though Swansea was already down.

Listened to it in Cyprus on the BBC world service with a mate from Seaham and was so disappointed. The biggest cheer was at the end of the game when the ground announcer said Cardiff had been relegated.

If I inferred through my article you are a direct side, I didn't mean to! I just meant that O'Neill has a history of more direct football, as has been mentioned, and as well as having the players to play tidy football there are some good "units" in the Sunderland squad more than capable of smashing our little midfield about! I said it before the game at Villa Park (and McLeish didn't listen), and I'll say it again now. If you want to beat us, you have to stop us retaining possession AND, ideally, kick lumps out of us. No team has yet been punished to the degree they should have been (Villa at the Liberty sticks out, dirty Villa...) and teams seem to get away with it as the PL is a physical league, and we're a team of midgets!

With the amount of good footballers in the squad, I'd be disappointed as a Sunderland fan to see my team adopt tactics which may be called "spoiling" or "negative" but if I was in charge of a team facing the Swans, I wouldn't be telling them to go out and try and match their possession game, that's for sure! You'll need to press really, really high up the field to stop us retaining the ball and whether you do this will probably dictate who wins the game... and as has been said, I hope no Sunderland fans mistake confidence for arrogance. After beating the supposed "best footballing team in the country" at their own game the other day, we've every right to be confident!

This should be a good footballing match, I've been impressed with Sunderland, even more so since MON took over. The recent win over Man City said an awful lot about the team and their qualities. I even cheered out loud myself when you scored. At this point I would be happy with a draw so I'm going for 2-2
