Tomorrow is the first chance I've had to go to Underhill, so I'm interested to see the famous slope. Does anyone know whether you are better off shooting uphill or downhill first? Also, any decent pubs by the ground? The Red Lion outside the away stand sounds the most likely unless anyone knows of any better. I'm going straight up from work in London and will have a bit of time to kill, so where better to spend it than the pub.
the red lion is the one to go for mate and its where we went last time might see you there i should be there about 530 ish
wandermagic as regards to the slope the way were playing we might be better off kicking downhill in both halfs
I'mhaving great difficulty getting on to the internet. Bought a dongle but the reception isn't great here and it's up & down. Anyway good luck tomorrow. Thanks Rocky and 1887 for Saturday. I'll try and put something up re my thoughts on the match after 5+ away. Up the blues 3-1 please. Just play like the first 15 minutes of the second half on Saturday and we are home and dried.
The away end terrace is quite exposed a bit like macclesfields so can be unpleasant especially if the weather is like it is at mo.
evening ron it was nice to meet you on saturday and it will be interesting to hear how you feel about your wanderers experience on the day
3 points away from home but we owe nikki bull again for a string of outstanding saves,we had our chances to kill the game off in the second half but we couldnt take them
Just got back - Some thoughts: We were very poor in the first half and lucky to go in front after Barnet wasted a number of chances. Nikki Bull pulled off 1 magnificent save to keep out a header. Westwood took his goal well although was poorly marked. We were better in the second half although the first 15 minutes or so saw Barnet continue to create chances and 3 excellent saves by Bull - he is an absolutely fantastic goalkeeper. As the second half went on Barnet became weary and we got into it more, creating a couple of half chances and eventually holding out. Westwood at the back was the pick of the outfield players for me, MOM alongside Bull. Overall we managed to grind out the win even if it wasn't especially convincing. The sort of performance which can work in league 2, as it did tonight, but will be found out in league 1 to be honest. Just a mention on Barnet - personally I found their stewards to be amongst the friendliest I have met. Their team wasn't too bad either, and I could see them staying up on that performance.
Huge 3 points but we must be grateful to Bull for single handedly keeping us in the game. Would also give praise to the colossal Leon Johnson who gets better by the game. KEEP HIM IN THE SIDE GW!! Officials tonight were absolutely shocking especially the near side assistant who struggled to make a correct decision all night.
Glad to here Leon had a good game hope he continues to get picked class defender alongside Westwood our captain of the back four. GW has a selection headache on Saturday with big Dave available again
totally agree with js we struggled to get a grip on the game in the first half and if we play like that in div one if we go up it will be a long hard season.bully was outstanding and will definately be our player of the season but we cant keep on relying on him game after game.leon and westwood were a rock at the back which we needed as barnet looked lively up front ,but 3 points is 3 points and we are still on course for promotion but we cant play as bad as we did in the first half and expect to get 3 points every game ,we got away with it at barnet but better teams would have punished us.
