I'd like to see us get rid of Forte asap and possibly Holmes, don't see a future for them here and it seems slightly stupid in keeping them, especially Forte now we seem to be going for another striker.
Not sure if it was posted on here earlier (can't be bothered to look back too much ) but I saw on SSN that Crystal Palace are in for Puncheon.
And to whom do you propose we sell them to? I'm sure if they were wanted elsewhere and an offer came in, it would be accepted.
Tbf, at the time we were a L1 club with Lambert, Connolly, Guly and Barnard. It's not like we needed a Rhodes or a CMS. Just a little bit of cheap cover, to help out if we were ever short. And that's exactly what Forte was. An alternative question could be, why did we offer him a deal beyond the summer. Why not just sign him for six months? I guess that might be answered by the player himself refusing to sign for us if he knew he might be left without a club in six months time, but that's just a speculative guess on my part.
Don't mock too much. He got us the points against Mk Dons. Last day would have been much more nerve racking without him.
"Arsenal are showing interest in Southampton striker Rickie Lambert. Southampton certainly would not be interested in selling their attackers, but £ 5m is a fantastic amount of money for someone who has just paid £ 1 million. If Lambert join Arsenal he will not fight for first team, but over time it could possibly occupies a place there." That's off of an Albanian site http://premierliga.net/arsenali-interesohet-per-rickie-lambert/
Jonno yes, but Holmes no. Looks good on the left or right, and looked really sharp against Forest - if he stays fit he could play a part this season, maybe not next though.
Not their player so they can't swap/sell him mate. I'd probably settle for Van Persie, Wilshere and Chamberlain in return for Sir Rickie though. Plus a few million, of course.
To be fair - I think there was alot of stirring up by his agent as it was his agent who said that Blackpool offered £600K - but then Saints said that Blackpool had made an enquiry about taking him on loan - which was why we rejected the approach because we are only looking to transfer him out of the club.
I'm starting to believe the Hooper is deal is on because it had gone so quiet over the past few days. Especially since Lennon was mouthing off a lot previously. Plus Celtic declined to comment when asked the question the other day...!
