<peacedove>BYE BYE ADIDAS.!..SOLDIER GO SOLDIER COME.!!!
Liverpool's kit suppliers Adidas have walked away from negotiations to renew the deal because the team's performances have not been good enough.
Adidas have supplied Liverpool's kit since 2006, but their chief executive Herbert Hainer said that the club had now overvalued their sponsorship worth given their poor results on the pitch.

"The gap between their performance on the field and what the number should be is not in balance," Hainer said.

"Then we said: 'OK we will not do it'. That's the end of the story. It all depends on the success and the effort and the popularity, the exposure on TV, revenue you can generate by merchandising.

"This all has to be brought in line between what you offer and what you get. We thought that what Liverpool were asking and what they were delivering was not in the right balance."
Liverpool instead went and signed a six-year agreement thought to be worth £150 million with little-known US company Warrior Sports.
The deal is Warrior's first foray into football and strengthens Liverpool's transatlantic ties after John W. Henry's Fenway Sports Group bought the club in 2010.
"This is another landmark deal for Liverpool Football Club and once again shows the value of the club's brand globally," said Ian Ayre, the club's managing director.
Warrior will supply home, away and third kits as well as training wear. Liverpool are famous for their red shirts.
Warrior were founded in 1992 by former champion lacrosse player David Morrow and have focused on supplying ice hockey and lacrosse footwear and kit. The company is owned by Boston-based New Balance, best known for its sports shoes.
"We are here to shake up the world of football and our partnership with one of the most successful club teams of all time is just the start," said Richard Wright, general manager for Warrior Sports.
Liverpool have won the league title 18 times and the European Cup five times and have a large global fan base.
However, they have not won the English league for more than two decades and have recently been eclipsed by north-west rivals Manchester United, who also have American owners in the shape of the Glazer family.

Screw them - they have no idea what they're talking about. Liverpool just got £25mil a season, and they were complaining it wasn't the market value?

Time for Adidas to wake up and smell the competition coffee...

It must be what they were paying us to pull out as I don't see them ripping the jerseys off of Stoke or Swansea's back.

I suspect that you were getting paid many times more than what Stoke and Swansea are getting.

I think Addidas are just trying to save face. Warrior have made a big offer to try and break into the British market which will also increase their brand world wide through your supporters. The offer made will have been enough to make addidas not want to compete.

Warrior could have paid less and got a Stoke or a Swansea but the impact on their own global brand would have been no where near like the potential impact this could have. Addidas seem to be trying to make it sound like it was on their terms but I think in reality they just didn't want to match Warriors offer.

    They're cheeky bastards

Liverpool get money from them due to the amount of people that watch the game and see thier fking logos, not how well we are playing.

    Cheeky ****ing ****s

Only the Mancs,Barca and Real sell more kits globally than LFC.

The issue was the opposite of what Adidas said, the fact is they made an insulting financial offer for our great club to allow them to manufacture our shirts and advertise their brand.

    Their loss is our gain.

Adidas didn't pull out because of poor results. It was Ian Ayre's decision solely - we effectively ditched Adidas, mainly due to the increased revenue from Warrior.

So, wait here while I try to digest this. Adidas who couldn't, or wouldn't, match Warrior's £25m bid "ditched us" ?

Surely if we were getting paid £20m from Adidas a season currently and we had to downgrade to a £15m a season deal with Warrior, then maybe Adidas would have a case of "ditching us" but not when the offer from Warrior has actually gone up.

It's just face-saving PR from Adidas. As has been said above the Warrior deal was negotiated and agreed WHILST LFC were also in negotiation with Adidas about renewal. As Adidas had already placed sales information in the public domain that clearly demonstrated that LFC was their biggest UK earner it seems highly unlikely that they took a unilateral decision to walk away based upon the reasons that they presented.

So Goodbye Adidias and Hello Warrior

in the end adidas have now made a snide statement after we thanksed them publicly and stated how loyal we were with them....

we got double what they piad us and they were not willing to pay... if they'd kept mouths shut in 6 years time they could have got back in... to be frank they can stick to selling rubbish to sue sylvester wannabe kids and have fun.

fordeck is quite right about timing and the reality of what adidas will lose out on to nike now.

This is either an old story or, a parting shot from Adidas who are pee'd we booted them! I remember abouth this time last year, we announced we were changing kit suppliers to Warrior! So, I think them claiming we 'Aren't market value' is a snide remark or as I said, a re hashed story!
