Ferrari have renamed their car again to the Ferrari 150° Italia. Ferrari announced the information on the Horse Whisperer section of their website in a wonderfully worded statement:

I love their Horse Whisperer columns. They're probably the only company in the world who could get away with being so scathingly brutal.

Not too happy about yet another name change, but I love the way in which Ferrari announced it. And they do this on the same day that Ford ask the judge to dismiss the case <laugh>

    Forza Horse Whisperer!

What is it with Americans and names, they sent us Scott Speed to race in F1, surely the worst named driver in the sports history!

I've always found their website gives a very childish and amaturish look to Ferrari. Lets face it, if Ford called their next truck the F430 or Enzo Ferrari would be straight on the phone, and we all know Ferrari lawyers are pretty much the busiest in the business ;-)

I agree Ferrari are pretty much a crass team and the most litigious team in F1. Bunch of hypocrites if you ask me

Take a look at how crass and spiteful this idiotic team can be

After a young Danish boy died of cancer in 2004, his family requested that his urn be modeled after his favorite sports car – the Ferrari. The funeral home contacted a local Ferrari dealer, and the dealer obliged, even sending him a prancing horse emblem and some Ferrari stickers.

Ferrari, perceiving the piece of art as marketing for the funeral home, sued the 4-person company for $46,000, claiming misuse of the Ferrari trademark.

I thought this announcement was a disgrace - "the thickest of people" for goodness sake this is just typical of their attitude that they think they walk on water and everyone must bow down to the great Ferrari.

I do hope those of you that think this attitude is commendable are also not the same people that criticised the Bahraini government.

And Lorca, Fred et al please do enlighten us as to your thoughts on the cancer boy story. Thank you aberdeensucks for the link.

What amuses me is that by adding the Italian symbol to the name in place of the "th" used by English speaking countries, such as the one across the pond, it infers that the people who were having the most trouble with the name and therefore the "thickest of people" are in fact Italians.

    :)

It's not just the Americans though.

I had a new neighbour (from London) move in next door to where we were living a number of years ago; he introduced himself as "William Power - my friends called me Will"
Funnily enough, I never did call him Will.
And we had some other near neighbours, a Mr & Mrs Plum. And they really did name their daughter Victoria Plum.
