That reminds me, I have to add to the "Weird woman you fancy" thread. Anyone know how to spell Jeanette?
I hope they had big screens (apologies Gers fans) so that you "can you guess what it is yet"? Be very difficult to see his paintings if you were right at the back otherwise
Just remembered as well, my old man was in school with Pino Palladino. Got to go backstage at The Who because of that little gem... Also, my best friends great uncle was the guitarist in Budgie, that one got me backstage at Metallica and soon to be Iron Maiden. Also seen Europe, Twisted Sister, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God (got on the tourbus after the gig for that one, all because a friend of mine is a complete slut!) Come to think of it, I've seen a lot of quality bands.
Was working there, saw "Tie Me Kangaroo Down" from about 10 feet away, one of the best moments of my life.
Muse at Wembley was epic -standing three rows from the front. Biffy Clyro and White Lies were awesome support too.
Muse are awesome, but Biffy? Really? I'm considering a boycott of Sonisphere this year, just so I don't have to possibly hear them from my tent on Saturday night. If ever there was a band that deserved to headline a massive festival, it most definitely was NOT Biffy Clyro. ****e, so they are.
father ted crilly and father dougal maguire live at the eurovision .........my lovely horse beat that ****s
My mate Smiffy went to see Dolly Parton and got thrown out because they caught him masturbating in aisle 3 row 6. He`s a dirty ****, ****ing ****ing everywhere he goes and he has the brass neck to take the piss out of me for my taste in cow ****ing. What a ****.
One of the best live bands I saw was The Undertones in Aberdeen in 1983. What a great band they were. Then Feargal went and became a male model writing piss-poor love songs - You Little Thief and A Good Fart - absolute tosh
Elbow at Glastonbury 2002. Singing with all the rest of the crowd "I still believe in love so **** yooouuuuu!!!!" And then listening to it on the Cast of Thousands album. Brilliant
Texas, backed by Semisonic, at Wembley Arena. INXS at Portsmouth Guildhall (while very ... very ... drunk)
The key word I used was support. Definitely wouldn't pay to go see them, and they weren't announced as support until way after I got tickets. However, compared to the crap I've seen as support at other gigs, they were pretty good. (The Big Pink at the O2 were awful beyond words). They were actually pretty good live, which surprised me too. Muse, though were pure awesome.
The worst support band I ever saw was the Dandy Warhols on Bowie's last British tour. Never seen a band look so disinterested in my life. And the lead singer just mumbled throughout. Apart from Bohemian Like Me the crowd mostly ignored them. Best support was Ash at the RHCP gig in Edinburgh.
Best and worst support was at the same gig, also at a RHCP gig, only in Cardiff. James Brown was the best, but some dumb sluts called Chicks On Speed were definitely the worst. They were only on the bill because one of them was shagging Anthony Kleidis, and they were awful. At a rock gig, they sang a song called "We Don't Play Guitars", whilst pretending to play inflatable guitars. Was a truly pathetic site, and was only made remotely enjoyable by the fact that my mate nailed one of them with an unsealed bottle of piss, soaked the bitch.
I went to the Edinburgh Hogmany this (or last?) year. Missed Billy Bragg, got their in time for the Charlatan who where pretty poor to be honest and then saw Biffy Clyro who where beyond epic! Not sure what all this Biffy bashing is about, they're my favourite band! I also went to Latitude Festival in 2008 and saw Doves who where decent, and White Lies who are really kinda emo... I'd love to see the Strokes/Kings of Leon/Keane one day.
