Of course, WINNING the champions league means we wouldn't have to be in the top four -we'd take the space of the fourth team. Would be absolutely brilliant if this happened and spurs finished fourth can you imagine how pissed they'd be? Chances of this happening? Slim. I think our style of play means we can beat teams like AC Milan, but as for Barca we'd be ****ed. Have to hope that Barca get knocked out, then I think we could beat Madrid.

Wouldnt it just be 5 English teams in the CL? When Liverpool won but finished outside the top 4 they just let them re-enter without kicking everton out.
I think you will beat ac Milan - wasn't impressed with them when we played them last year. I think real Madrid will win the cl though
Apart from the two spanish sides, I reckon we could beat anyone. But winning tournaments is difficult, a lot will depend on the form and obviously the mentality of the players. 5th place in league and winning CL...I would sign that immediately. But it is really true that the fourth placed team will lose their CL-spot if we (or Chelsea given they don't finish 4th or higher) win the CL? As far as I remember, Liverpool had to go through Qualifying from the very first qualifying round. The FA actually refused to let Liverpool through instead of Everton, that's why UEFA intervened and and let Pool play from the very first qualifying round. Everton was in the third(?) qualifying round and didn't make it into the group stages. I think Liverpool wasn't even counted as an English club, simply as a European club. Because of that they were able to be drawn into the same group as Chelsea in the 2005/06 season. It would be so hilarious should Spurs finish 4th in the league and we still make it to Champions League instead of them

Nah, it's fixed for Barca. They get all the calls, all the dodgy decisions in their favour, it's sickening. I wouldn't pick Real if i were you, UEFA seem to screw them over as much as they screw us over.
The liverpool thing was a one time exception because of the rule being established that year, also that welsh team offering to play them as they'd get more money from playing liverpool than being knocked out by a romanian second division team.
