A Quick Point About The Media...

I'd like to point out the fact that in the Tuesday gossip and rumour columns throughout the land, not ONE had the words Cisse or Newcastle Utd anywhere near them.

However, the fact Newcastle had set up this transfer on Monday evening to be concluded the following day seemed to be the best kept mission in history.

Seriously, if the biggest transfer of the window so far can be totally missed in every way before the lad actually turned up at the training ground with a fee already agreed, then the whole 'gossip' 'rumour' 'transfer window updates' are a total fail, joke and embarrassingly pointless.

They serve their purpose .. all part of the transfer window pantomime .. key is not to get all worked up about random, lazy, musings of a bored sports journo ..

I just read them for a laugh. Like the one about Liverpool signing David Villa for 30mill, Liverpool pre-paring a 10mill bid for Raylor etc. Bit of a theme I feel...

 

Having said all of the above, I still have a look at them all. But they 'know' pretty much F*ck All.

Sky Sports should be embarrassed with their dedicated Clockwatch and 'Sky Sources'.

 

To be fair Sky and most of these are good. The fact is we kept it under wraps like we did Marveuax. We didn't let anyone who didn't need to know get the information. I feel it will continue this way

The gossip column is exactly what it says it is, total bull but also pretty great too.

We all partake in and like the chatter about potential transfers and signings, I just think most of us are old and cynical enough to know that it counts for naff all until we see the lad holding up the shirt.

Most of the newspapers are sold in this country for back page tittle-tattle and we love it. The transfer pantomime and rumour mill is like that bloody awful TOWIE show, but for blokes...

Pure speculation nothing more, although that does not stop some people on here creaming their pants when we are linked with a decent player. lol

 

I never take anything seriously outside the transfer window. However we shud be able to expect an element of substance during it.

The fact Cisse came, signed and f*cked off again with NOBODY in the know, is embarrassing.

 

I have a mate that spouts bullshit he reads in gossip columns as if it's 100% factually correct.

Clockwatch is a joke but the Sources tend to get quite a few things right, don't knock them.

 

Or tell him that the word 'gullable' isn't in the dictionary
