I believe that we should now be looking to sign-up all our on-loan players on a permanent basis ready for next years campaign.I include Danny in that statement,as I think Sir Alex will see that by letting us buy Danny,he will get first refusal,in the future,to sign Jordan. My only worry is that I can see Sir Alex putting in a bid for Craig Gordon. He needs to replace his keeper, and Craig is the best in the league!!What are your thoughts, fellow Mackem fans???

gordon the best in the league? i take it you didn't see the recent games v chelsea, stoke and spurs. not having a pop at you or gordon who is a very good goalkeeper, but to say he's the best in the league is incorrect imo

after yesterday's performance, i reckon gordon is actually one of the players i think we can afford to lose. I hope we don't, i'm a big gordon fan and having two top keepers has been a big help for us this year, but if we were to deal for welbeck, it wouldn't be the worst thing if gordon was the makeweight.

we can't afford to lose gordon even after yesterday, the mig was excellent but nobody wins anything without a top class keeper and mig is a great prospect but how would he deal with the same intense scrutiny that gordon gets, i think for the next 2 years at least we should be hoping to keep gordon and bring the mig on

Best in the league? I don't think he's the best at Sunderland, but he's still bloody good and better than most.

I'd like to see us sign all the loan players;if that's not possible then I would like to see us bring in Hutton and/or Corluka. If we don't get Danny I think Frazier will step up to the plate next term so we should be OK up front with Muntari playing behind the front two.

what about the cost of bringing in emlo, muntari, becks, ned? must be close to the 20 mil mark. Remember bringing those players in would only maintain the squad not push it on..say we dont sign any of them, we start to look awfully weak..

I'm with happy-jack on this - we need 2 solid keepers to advance further up the table.

Good post calmcumbrian, agree on the signing of loan players.....do we have any evidence SAF is interested in Hendo or Gordon.

Well as yet there has been no word from Brucie of SAF just all paper talk atm, and as we know most of the time paper talk means nothing. I hate to bring the Bent thing up again but none of the papers prediced that? Truth is they are not in the loop despite what they would have you believe

I see the logic in SAF wanting Gordon, as VDS is hanging up his boots, but Hendo.....hhhhhmmmmmm

I think the only way we'll get Danny is in a deal with Henderson. Henderson was brilliant at the start of the season but I dont think he has been playing well recently and if SAF were to offer something for Hendo as part of a deal with danny then I would snap their hands off. Hendo is a top lad but Danny has to take priority.

As for the rest of the loans, I'd take all of them on a perm deal.

No ones disputing that. Im sure most of us would love them all, its just the cost of it vs bringing in others. IMO we have to bring them all in or else we are going backwards...even if it means we dont get any better, maybe our climb up the quality ladder needs to slow down a bit..Short cant bankrole another record spending spree

im not into the idea of sighning all our loan players, already posted i would only take elmo and wellbeck. and if we dont get wellbeck its not the end of the world as brucey seems to have a knack of sniffing out top quality strikers, but if we could get him without losing gordon or henderson that would be a bonus. i seem to stand alone with the sighning of muntari, as i dont see what better he brings, i would love to see us going for someone like scott parker.
wouldnt mind johnny evans in place of mensah
hutton (exclude yesterday) in place of ned

JE would be a great signing, seems to have lost his head of late at UTD, maybe not quite good enough to one day replace RIO but defo worth a punt for us
