o no doubt simpson is top notch and the dogs bollox but i dont like the idea of the wingers like lennon or milner being able to freely run half the pitch due to positions. Much harder to man mark on that formation

Although it is the best formation i have seen newcastle could have. if you include S taylor anyway

and jonas instead of guthrie aswell. his work rate and destribution i feel is better then ol guthries

Obviously it would change to adapt to different games, but you can't deny it's a very strong looking line up for a team that 2 years ago this summer had just been promoted!

no i would never deny that. Id just take kyler walker for simpson, S taylor for willo and jonas for guthrie.
Add messi if im dreaming but yer that would be a side to be scared of

Wrong. They're swapping to odd numbered years so they don't clash with World Cups anymore. There is an ACON next year, so they'll all be going unless they don't qualify or don't get picked...

Simpson looking like the weak link on our fully fit lineup.

He has improved a bit this season but hes still caught out of position a lot and backs away from his man, but he is looking better this season I have to admit. And I'm seriously not a fan of his.

It's the reaction from the Man City fans which encourages me the most. There are quite a few that are jealous and considering the players they have signed in recent years that counts for something!

This Toon fan hasn't been this excited about his team for a long long time.

Arsenal fans are nice and honest, as are City. Most of the Spurs fan were still arrogant tossers who think they are so great. Hate them!

I'm surprised the City and Spurs fans are envious. They have some quality forwards of their own. Obviously Arsenal have Van the man, but I understand why they are a tinsy bit jealous :)

Same. In a very arrogant, stuck up tone.

    Krul
    Simmo - Willo - Colo - Santon
    Tiote
    Cabaye - Guthrie
    HBA Ba
    Cissé

Wanted that sort of formation before we even had Cisse, putting Gutierrez in where Ba is there. Now with Cisse its even better, but i always feel bad leaving Gutierrez out for some reason. Id love that formation, but Getting it working in the premiership is completely different.

Its totally going to be my formation on Fifa anyways.

The distribution from Guthrie and Cabaye for that front three woudl be insane!

    On topic though:

Its so strange having fans of clubs like that actually talking about us in a meaningful way again... Cant wait to see the team in action now. See how Senegal get on.

Don't like that mate, all this tinkering with formations is daft. Even before Cisse, it looked like a 4-4-2 was beginning to shape up nicely for us. Demba likes to play just behind a striker ideally, so Cisse and him will be a perfect partnership. HBA looking good at right wing so leave him be there.
All we need now IMO is a left back and a centre back and we will have an entire first XI that can challenge top 4.
