The following is on The Snooze site:-

"IPSWICH are on the trail of Pompey duo Joel Ward and Jason Pearce.

The Blues’ Championship rivals have lodged a bid for the highly-rated young pair, according to sources in East Anglia.

Pearce joined Pompey from Bournemouth in the summer and has impressed at the heart of the defence, while Ward excelled at Fratton Park last season.

Blues boss Michael Appleton, however, has recently stated he is under no pressure to sell players despite parent company CSI’s descent into administration.

Appleton has already got the smallest squad in the Football League and cannot afford to have his numbers reduced any further."

It looks like Jewell is after a few bargains, for his struggling Ipswich team. Let us hope that DL and MA stand firm...............

Let us hope so PM, although we surely don't want to lose two excellent young players ?

My only fear is that Paul Jewell is trying to sign them on the cheap, thinking (quite rightly) that we are desperate for any money we can get.

Perhaps Joe Cala can make him an offer he can't refuse...........

No way can we let them go!!

They are both 2 of the most important players in our team, I am quite frankly disgusted Paul Jewell has even made an enquiry !!

Besides,we should be adding to our squad, not weakening it <ok>

Apart from Herm, NO PFC players are leaving in this transfer window.........both those players are signed into contracts with options and both have a desire to play for Pompey. Town or any other club for that matter would have to stump up a serious amount of dollar to get them! and they dont have it :emoticon-0102-bigsm

There are on going contractural issues with TBH, but even with his ludicrous contract pfc are able to trade comfortably with in its limitatins of the CVA, and to date no payments have been missed. The urgency of new ownership is to have any potential investors have the chance to strengthen the squad to give us the best possible chance of staying and advancing in the championship............and to have the finacial secuirty of making the next big lump payment of the CVA..........(CSI were underwriting any shortfall PFC cant meet for these intrim payments).........day to day running still sees DL and co running a nice tight ship........so lets hope AA finds a decent owner this time and not a pretend one :lipsrsealed:

Keep the faith my friends, BP

I hope this is just paper talk. I can understand letting go of the likes of Herman and Kanu, but I see no sense in selling these two.

The bid is for a total of £2 Million so hardly on the cheap <ok>

I wouldn't be surprised to see Leadbitter move the other way to be with his mate Norris!

I can't see Appy letting 2 young players go so don't hold your breath. I know we were after Leadbitter last year but Jewell got him to sign a new contract to keep him there a while longer and with our off field shenanigans I can't see him dying to come to us now.

Leadbitter hasn't signed a new contract and he will be a free agent in the summer just like Norris was!

Ah - I thought I'd read that he had signed a contract extension to stay at Ipswich. Don't you want to keep him then?

£2million is cheap, I would be suprised if we accepted anything below £3mil to be honest.

As for Grant Cockbitter, you can keep him. He's useless!

 You might like to know that both Joel and pearcey both said thay would rather play for our stripey freinds down the road than join a bunch of cabbage growers, so i think they feel quite strongly about it..................I believe a few comments came from chuck too ...............they are going no where
