Now as most will know i am a quiet type, and hate to cause any kind of controversy..

I wouldn't dream of starting a thread in order to try and provoke a reaction from folks, and shun away from idle gossip...

Now all of the above is total bollocks...so here we go..

There is this small club in the midlands, who through history, many of our fans seem to have a kind of dislike for.

We have a matter of relegations, and a person with a rather large chin..

Now this club is in deep ****, and certainly look like being relegated into oblivion, if they manage to stay alive at all.

Is it time to forget the past...(i can't get 1997 out of my head for some reason) and wish them well, or do we want them to get what's coming to them?

I also know there is the matter of `1977, but i was only a nipper then.

They have that nice stadium with that nice new statue outside..

So forgive and forget or not?

Iv'e only done this, as it's provoked a reaction elsewhere....and been interesting read.

    Jimmy Hll is a twat..........imo.

I'd be delighted if Coventry went bust, as I wasn't a nipper back in the 1976/77 season and it still gets on my tits when I think about it.

Poetic justice for me. **** them.

Benno is a true SAFC legend who always gave his all. You must have been close to me that day FTM1973.

I remember 76/77 well and have hated them ever since. For that and persistently dodging relegation while we never could.

I held a grudge for years following that incident in 1977, but to be honest I'm not bothered one way or the other about them now...

I don't like to see any community lose their football team - even those who don't attend in great numbers, and don't appear to care for it, because a future generation might - so I'd be sorry to see Coventry City go. I can forgive and forget to that extent. But don't anyone ever ask me to forgive Hill. That 1977 run around the field to tell everyone that Sunderland had lost, and the slackening off which allowed Bristol C. to score two late goals and send us down was one of the most disgusting examples of blatant deliberate cheating I ever saw in a football ground.

Nowt against the fans probably the same as us but, as a club **** them it was a disgrace what they did on both occasions. One of them when we played Wimbledon I think they were playing Spurs and their game got held up due to fans not being there FFS we had close on 300 miles to cover they had about 100 miles, they knew exactly what they were doing.
    Not just desserts it's Karma.

The 1977 game CCFC -vs- BCFC and Jimmy Hill's personal involvement, announcing our loss at half-time was a disgrace to the national game.

I have a problem burying the past and Coventry's demise and oblivion is a matter of indifference to me now. Not bitter, it's just insignificant, however if it were another club I would probably have more sympathy.

I held a grudge for a long, long time.
No grudge now, but when I see their name, paricularly their league position it brings 1977 back to mind.

We've got a canny goalie from them.
    :)
