If he does prove to be out for an age its going hit us like a ton of bricks. He alongside vida has been our best player this year. Without question. Forget valencia's return, he isnt on nani's planet let alone level. Our midfeild centrally and on the left is utter bollux, Nani all season has been scoring and creating goals that have got us out of the **** we have created by being so damm awful at times especially away from home. Stoke etc. Take him out of our team and we are going to have serious problem getting the ball from the midfeilders to the attackers, he is our main link man, odd for a winger, but true. This is not some love sonnet to Nani, this is the truth, yes at times he can be frustrating and he made a mistake today for the second goal but without him we wouldnt be anywhere near the top of the league. If he misses the next two months we are screwed. Rooney, as much as I love him, isnt at the races this year. Berba once again has gone back to not being able to score a goal, 7 games without one now. Scholes cant play every game and even when he does he gets overrun. The last time carrick played a forawrd pass was in about late 2007. Giggs, has had his purple patch and now returned to looking like a 37 years old, understandable tbh. Parks not creative. Fletch is not a creative footballer to save his life, no matter how many times you play him in a more advanced role than carrick. Valencia - Well he is direct and a good crosser, but no way in hell is he going to be able to do the things Nani at times does, lets face it if you are looking for a bit of magic and flair to get you out of a drab nil - nil AV aint the man to look for. And he is a few weeks off a return anyway, then we have to see how long it takes him to re adjust. Without Nani, pretty much our only creative player in our midfeild, come someone please for the love of god tell me how we are going create goals on a regular basis? Our midfeild is a shambles.
Gutted to see him injured. With Valencia nearly back we were perilously close to having a decent midfield. Ah well. I have yet to see anything concrete to suggest it is to bad though. if it only two or three weeks then its not the end of the world.
Of all the places to go without Nani, upton park would be one of the last places on that list. Its been a horrible ground for us to visit in the past.
People laugh about when I rave about Nani but he is a awesome player, our only real threat. When the team is playing bad he can score out of nothing. Who else can do that in this team?

Then why did he get up again to prove to the ref that he had actually been fouled this time after the initial challenge? Doesn't that defeat the point he is trying to prove
No because the ref saw that he had been fouled, he didnt need to prove that. He wanted to prove the extent. I think he was in shock. Had a fair few Bumps and breaks in my time and the most painful one's that happen to rapidly where you havent got time to think the pain wont hit you for a couple of mins.
I was the same when I broke my collar bone skiing. Stood straight back up like nothing had happened. Then when I tried to move my left arm the edges grated together and I nearly threw up and passed out simultaneously. Nani seemed to do the opposite - whilst he was moving around he didn't notice it, but as soon as he stood still his leg gave way. Probably the adrenaline wearing off like Stretty said, mixed with a fair bit of Nani's flair for the dramatic...
If Nani had just stayed down instead of prancing around like a prom queen, the ref would have seen his gash and Carra may well have seen red. As it was, Nani got up, went flying after the ref in a stylie, then fell to the floor like he'd been shot. It looked comical - despite the fact that he was actually injured.
If you watch the replay, Dowd had the yellow card out before he'd even looked at Nani - refs keep them in different pockets to avoid pulling the wrong one out by mistake. He was never going to sent Carragher off. I think that's what triggered Nani to jump up and chase after him - he saw the yellow card and realised Carragher was likely to get away with a potential leg breaker.
Agree that Carragher was lucky not to see Red, as was Rafael for his equally horrendous lunge on Skyrtel. I just think Nani lost any respect or sympathy that he may have been entitled to because of his behaviour. Chasing after the ref, then falling to the ground, then trying to punch the St John's ambulance worker who was trying to help him. Nani wanted an audience and in the process made himself look silly.
