with the youngsters that are borderline whether to keep or not, I think the club should not piss them around with with 4 different loans at different clubs in one season. How about building links with lower league clubs and our youth players are sent there for 1/2 or the full season loan .I thought Leon Best was released due to his attitude. Take this as racist if you want, but I feel alot of youths coming from inner cities areas can have this bad boy wanna be gangsta attitude and are generally 'harder 'than some skinny little white kid that grew up in the new forest area for example - think that was the problem with Nile Ranger as well

to be fair second stain, Best wasn#t a failure at saints, he turned down a new contract because we offered him two buttons and a new jacket for a new contract as we were skint. He was one hell of a prospect who finished that season with a really strong showing in the first team in the championship. he also hada big time charlie attitude which took him elsewhere.

I think doble just hasn't got it.

We'll know if he ever makes it to Leon Best's level if we see one of these pop up.

'Loads' is a bit of an exaggeration. If you just count those coming up through our youth system who have had at least one season at U16 become scholars and then pro contract players I know of are shown below. Just goes to show what the club think of the current first year scholars. Anyone want to add to this?

    Current U21 squad U21 = 0
    None?

Nb Saville arrived as a scholar/pro

    Current U21 squad U20 = 1
    Racine

    Current U21 squad U19 = 4
    Robinson, Hoskins, Isgrove,
    Oxlade-Chamberlain

    Current 2nd year scholars U18 = 1
    Moore
Nb Stephens arrived as a scholar/pro.

    Current 1st yr scholars U17 = 7
Ward-Prowse, Shaw, Sinclair, Chambers, Moore, Reed, Turnbull and McQueen
Nb Johns arrived as a scholar/pro I believe.

Sometimes I think players need to move on to make it. Not necessarily because they are not good players, more likely because they have got a bit complacent. You kind of get a bit bored with the same ole, same ole, all the time. Moving to a new club will often give you a bit more impetus a different aspect. New things to learn and different players around you. It's what some of them need to be honest.
