    Guthrie, Cabaye and Tiote...

We can sometimes start this team:

    Krul
    Simpson Williamson Coloccini Santon
    Cabaye Tiote Guthrie
    HBA
    Cisse Ba

Guthrie is a better passer than Tiote and a better tackler than Cabaye.

But he is a direct replacement for neither. Good back up player for either roles but the first teamers are great, not just good. And Cabaye and Tiote compliment each other so much better than any other CM pairing in our squad.

He is exactly who we need to keep in the squad if we want to progress and he gives great depth. Deffo rate him far and above Gosling.

Cabaye! We have to play our strongest 11 every week, why not play them both?

Cabaye has struggled against Blackburn and QPR recently, where as Guthrie was given man of the match against QPR. However on top form and overall Cabaye is the better player.

i know Guthrie brings different qaulities to the team than Tiote but really Tiote was a bit of a liability for few games after his injury. Would Guthrie and Cabaye work together do you think ?

Think they have worked well together mate, but I would rather have Tiote and Cabaye as they are better players, though Guthrie has made good progress this season.

Guthrie is a great player but Cabaye and Tiote are better and they should be starting ahead of him unless their form drops. If we do well enough to get a European slot next season then Guthrie will be extremely important to our depth because he is by far our best squad/backup player.

I've been one of the few people that have always rated Guthrie. If he keeps playing like he is then dropping him for Tiote when he's back would be weakening the team potentially. Same as if Cabaye is playing well then we shouldn't drop him. You should reward good form with an extended run in the team. If Guthrie has a mare then he should make way for Tiote when he's back, same for Cabaye.

I agree, I've rated Guthrie too and I'd even say he's improved this season. But if Tiote returns and continues to perform like he did against Man United, then I'd rather have him in the team. Tiote's season hasn't been as good as last season but how he played against Man United was arguably his best performance for us ever. I definitely think we need to keep Guthrie though, he's just unfortunate that his position is one that we have a hell of a lot of good depth in.

Would say he was a better tackler than Cabaye tbh. Cabaye's tackles are good, and he's more aggressive than Guthrie, sometimes that's good and sometimes bad.

Better passer than Tiote yes, but Tiote's passing is still good when he's on form. He distributes the ball very well.

This i think all 3 could work well together as they all have different attributes to their game. Would also allow us to play HBA Cisse and BA together. I know its a bit harsh on Guti but that would be my team

No he's not, Tiote makes a hell of a lot more passes then anyone in the team, and more successful passes, despite passing more then anyone else.

    Tiote isn't a good passer.
