As a business model, football clubs simply don't work in general (NCFC seems to be getting it right at the the moment) but surely there has to be an implosion soon, even when financial fair play comes in there are many 'outgoings" which won't be included as debts. I hope that the sheikh and the russians leave, and leave the clubs in the ****e.

it'll be very interesting to see how they regulate the financial fair play rules, if indeed they can at all.

it's difficult to imagine FIFA banning Barca or any of the biggest teams in europe, whose spending greatly exceeds their income, from competing in the champions league.

The sad thing is County Durham has about 500,000 people living there I know Newcastle and Sunderland are close but quite a lot of local people with no obvious ties should support their team. There is 212,000 people where I'm from well over 100,000 are born here but they support teams they have no links with, it's ****ing sad when Man United and Chelsea play you can barely fit in most pubs.

What no Man City or Spurs yet. I thought I'd take the rise when I went into a local JJB and asked to see the new Norwich strip. Vacant looks at first and thoughts of is he having me on before I put him out of his misery.
Greed is good, might is right and poor old Cobblers will struggle while locals say it isn't worth going as they are crap and they can watch Goldman Sachs United play Citigroup City on their IPad.

a friend of mine says that there is a lad, about 21, who lives just down the road from him in norwich who supports man city. he sees him every weekend going round the park in his citeh shirt for a kick about with mates. thing is, last year, he was an arsenal fan...

    disgraceful behaviour

Brainwashing helps. One of my grandsons, born in Cornwall, didn't follow Norwich but after several years of going on at him, singing OTBC, and finally letting him beat me at football, he has converted to being one of us.

that may very well be the case warky, but it never stopped me from supporting them. the reason? my local club. it doesn't matter if they are **** or the best team in the world, if you are from that place you should support them or at least find a club you have an affinity with. if this lad was a londoner or came from that background and was brought up an arsenal fan, thats fine but how can he suddenly change to man city???

I know what you are saying Supers, When I was growing up in the 70s everyone in Ipswich was wearing the Town top for obvious reasons. Nowadays its all Man Utd, Arsenal etc etc. I was lucky growing up I guess with the Town being a top 4 English team. Kid's affinities are derived from the area they were brought up in and by their Dad's allegiances. Luckily enough I managed to brainwash my eldest son into being a Townie from an early age and he hasn't forgiven me since! <laugh>

it was the same for me. norwich were a top team in the late 80s early 90s when i first started going, so maybe that helped get my attention. a lot of my mates supported either norwich or liverpool - they were the two main teams and there were still some attracted to manchester united and arsenal of course. i had the inconvenience of having my old man supporting the binners, so i was extremely lucky that my friends dad got free tickets at carrow road and could take me along!! otherwise, well... i can't even begin to imagine what could have happened had my dad had his way! <laugh>

i'd like to think that had i been brought up in darlington i'd be grieving for my club today, or had i lived in plymouth i'd be a plymouth fan etc though i will admit that the albeit moderate success of that norwich team may have gone someway to making my mind up

"Now you could say that the chairman are stupid"!!
Couldn't agree more Redruth, why would anyone in their right mind and any common sense give, the likes of Warnock, Jewell, Alladyce, Bruce etc a open cheque book? More money than sense comes to mind! They must be ****ing mental!!
