.......started to cry. Well at least tears were rolling down my cheeks. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/p...eal_agreement_to_buy_pompey_in_days_1_3428878 Those poor old Pompey boys just really do not deserve this. What on earth is their Administrator thinking about?
'I am not saying I am not going to spend money but I am saying it’s the gasoline. You have to build the Ferrari and then have the best driver.’ Pure madness......when does he sign!
Dear oh dear. I'm not laughing. Is that really the best bidder..? My goodness, the sharks are out in force. Don't tell me the bloke is doing it for the love of the club. I can only see him folding the club and using the assets for redevelopment. Pompey supporters must be shaking.
In all honesty mate, that comes from the same book of sayings as luck evens itself out over a season.
If Pompey fans "got what they deserved" the ones I know would get a decent well run club a la Saints. We went through the heart ache a couple of years back and most of our Pompey friends on the then 606 board were very supportive. This administrator is clearly desperately trying to get the club out of the frying pan, but the fire awaits. My deepest sympathies to all decent Pompey fans.
Problem is for the Administrators is they need a buyer fast - wages have to be paid! Someone with funds is better than no funds at all I guess.
Oh Godders, we agree again. It's worrying. At the risk of sounding like the guy I was slagging off yesterday (see my public swallowing of humble pie on a separate thread), people should buy businesses if it makes business sense. This business is toxic and has been for a while. It needs to crash and burn to have any chance of being re-built properly. I have great affection for the City of Portsmouth and for my misguided friends who support Pompey. There are lots of good people involved and they deserve better than this.
Considering previous owners have been gun runners and money launderers, underwater hotels are pretty respectable. Things are looking up down Pompey way.
My colleague who is a pompey fan reckons this joker intends on 'floating' PFC on the stock market He now has a terrible 'sinking' feeling they will more than likely 'go-under' Jokes aside that is more or less what he said. Do feel sorry for the genuine fans if this is the best they can get!
Said on another thread, his business has never made profit.(recorded a 558k loss last year if I can remember rightly) He was previous owner of two Italian clubs, One was in Serie D ( a non pro league), he was ousted in 6 weeks for failure to pay wages. The other he was ousted for the same thing.
Don't knock it! The plans are already submitted for the new stadium. Here's a picture of 'Skate Park' please log in to view this image
