Its a show on Showtime about this crazy dysfunctional family in a poor neighborhood in Chicago and all the **** they have to put up with.
I forgot you were a yank. I'm sure you're aware you copied the idea from here. The family is based in mancland. It's not fiction. That's what it's like living there, so I believe
What's the UK version called? It's quite possible it's the same show, but it's also no an original or unique plot, as far as movies or tv are considered. Quick synopsis, family of 6 kids with their raging alcohol father, who is never home as he normally passes out in an alley somewhere, and only comes home when money is involved, and the oldest kid, Fiona takes care of the younger kids, who all have their own issues. One brother is super smart kid who uses his intelligence to make money from tutoring, and taking exams for other people, and the other brother is gay, but wants to join the army, and theres a little black baby, even though the family is white. Something like that?
Why do the yanks feel the need to replicate our shows? The Office, Life on Mars, Shameless, The Inbetweeners....Can you not understand British accents or something?
You'd be amazed, especially in the south....... Just be glad I don't cut half the words off like the new age texters do, tks x.........
So Fringe and the new show Alcatraz are both done by the creaters of LOST ( J J Abrams). My worry is that he also has another show in the works ( once upon a time?) so that is 3 shows out. Is he slipping up? Are these any good? Alcatraz is brand new here so not sure if they have across the lake but with LOST he had a masterpiece and I am getting closer to finishing the wire so will need a new show soon.
I don't think there will be toom many more series of Fringe to be honest. I think he is also involved in some films ?
That's my worry, LOST was indeed "epic" and now he seems to have his hands in different jars, so not sure if I should waste my time on the shows if he is not putting 100% in them. I heard good reviews on Alcatraz but wanted to know if anyone watched it. Wire season 4 episode 5 so getting closer to the end of that ( closer meaning multiple hours still to watch!)
