my concern is for a 22 year old, he has played only 2 or 3 first team games in spain, italy and for spurs
well, 6 for spurs, but I'm being picky. don't be concerned, trust the manager who has put your team top of the league
Largely has come down to where he has been playing...with Barca as an 18 year old, Serie A Bari as a 19 year old, Second Division Villarreal B as a 20 year old (where he was excellent), and Premier Division Tottenham as a 21 year old. So the only time he wasn't with an elite team in a top league, he played regularly, and played well; while the Spanish Second Division isn't quite the Championship, it's not as if he's totally untested.
My Spurs supporting mate said he looks good but does look very raw around the edges and pretty inexperienced, but will judge for myself after a few games
thats my point, we are half way through the season, he needs to adapt and may not have the time - not doubting his ability, just his experience
I think we can trust Nigel and his coaching team to get the best out of this player, but remember we didn't buy him so we get him on the cheap. Young, talented players are just what Saints like.
Totally agree, a great signing and i'm reall excited to see him play. I think he will take some pressure of Lallana as he is now not the only one capable of producing a bit of magic.
He has brilliant technique, has been groomed on the passing and moving game at Barcelona. I think he will fit in perfectly with the way Adkins wants to play. As mentioned before it will take a bit of the creative pressure off Lallana. If we were in the Prem I would think it was a bit of a risk but at Championship I think he will find it quite comfortable. I see him playing in a similar position to that which Fabrice Fernandes used to play for us.
I don't get some people at all, saying they have concerns because he lacks experience and hasn't played much for spurs this season. He is a great little loan signing and gives us another option and coming through the likes of the Barca acdemy etc. He has to have some talent for a 22 year old. He is with us to gain the expereince. Lets face fact you can spend 35millon and 50million on players Caroll and Torres for example who have the experience and it still doesn't work.
Strange one wasn't it. Spurs obviously hoped we'd give him game time that they couldn't, but for some reason he didn't fit here. He wasn't needed, Nige wasn't impressed...who knows!
It's really very simple: He was brought in as cover for Lallana, which in the end we didn't need. But if Lallana had been badly injured Falqué may have played a big role. It was a sensible signing, but he was never going to become a key member of the team as he was only on a short-term loan.
Those with Saints Player and too much free time on their hands will have seen some of his brilliant performances for the Development Squad. Frequently setting up goals with defence-splitting passes and I think he scored a couple too. I think his poor debut for the first team and possibly other reasons behind the scene must have left him out of the squad because I definitely rated him a lot higher than Puncheon.
I think his debut was against the foxes, played ok but we lost to some really bad defending- not his fault but some fans may have pointed the finger. its always worth trying to sign youngsters, but sometimes they are just not ready.
