Now, the only part of this tale that is fact is this bit, a friend of mine has just been on a flight down to London Heathrow, and MON was on the flight. For all I know, he is visiting a family member, shopping, has a house there , whatever. Anyway, my pal who was on the flight, also had a few other nuggets, all of which are likely to be bollocks, but let's share them anyway. - Nugget 1 - We are interested in Samba, but only willing to go to £6million. Well, that's not enough, even if it were true. - Pienaar is a done deal, good player, needed? Probs not. - MON's number 1 target is Jermaine Defoe. Quick and English I guess, the old MON favourite traits. Sooo, what was our wonderful manager doing on a flight down to London midweek? No games in London tomorrow, so he ain't going to watch anyone. In terms of connecting flights the only noteable games on the continent tomorrow are Milan v Novara, Bilbao v Mallorca, and Real v Barca, so, none of them likely. Even if he WERE after a player, he couldn't negotiate a deal anyway, rendering this entire article pointless. Hmmmf.
Maybe some truth in this, the lads have got a day of training, maybe so Martin can try sort out a transfer?
MON's number 1 target is Jermaine Defoe. Quick and English I guess, the old MON favourite traits. No evidence to back that up mind Mosh, he's had Gabby Agbonlahor and Made "Emile of that" Heskey.
Not wishing to rain on anyone's parade, but could he be going anywhere to do a bit of punditry? Only asking. x
I think he still has his house in Buckinghamshire but.... isn't Ellis Short based in London? And didn't they say they were going to meet and discuss transfer strategy this week? That is my guess anyway.
It's usually the chief executive who does all the running about regarding transfers, maybe he's going to watch a match. Who's playing tonight?
My apologies for that Hurley, I thought it mentioned finisher as well, that's why I was ruling them two out.
As I am reading this thread much later than published, and with only 6 days left to the window closing, recon your mate called this one wrong, no shame in that though, because we all want to believe in something/anyting at times.
