    If we sign a top left back and move santon over to the right....We could have a first team that could actually get a champions league spot.... (emphasis on COULD)

    I dont think we will be challenging top 4

    I would be fine with a 7th and content with top 10

    Feel free to suggest who we should sign at left back????

    i think that we dont need to sign a LB, We need to Sign a CB, Santon can play RB LB RM LM, Leave him at LB simpson has been doing fine

    CB is a priority, and Simpson has improved a lot this season, see how he gets on in the second half. Better than splashing another 10 million on a player who might not be much better.

    Simpson has got better this season and plus, Santon and Gutierrez look brilliant together on the left.

    I think cover/excellent CB coming in is more of a priority. Take colo or willo out due to injury or suspension and the defence suddenly looks a lot less safe

    Love to get Pieters who can also play CB and left mid but suspect a cover CB will be what we go for and to be fair Simpson, Raylor and Willo have done well this season and are all improving. Would prefer a left footer at LB though but not expecting it to happen at least in this window.

    I agree, they have all improved.

    Ferguson can cover at lb as a last resort anyway.


    I guess we just need one young promising centre back to act as cover and we have a pretty much complete squad of decent players

    Yohan Benalouane seems most likely at the minute, along with this Rhys Williams that I haven't ever seen.

    From all the stuff on show about Yohan he looks like a less skillfull Coloccini. Always cool and composed. You'll not find many CBs with as much flair as Colo though!

    Personally would have Cissokho, though however the main need is a centre back as they would be inadequate cover if Coloccini or Williamson got injured, remember when Coloccini, S.Taylor and Williamson were all out against Norwich we lost 4-2 and our centre back pairing was Perch and our right back Simpson.
