Well they earnt a replay, so they arent exactly push overs! But he does seem to have found his scoring boots.
apparently there are interested parties, but the theory is that they don't have enough money, because otherwise they would have rushed it through...
The World u20 Mens Ice Hockey division 3 is in New Zealand this year, next year will be a different location. The winner gets promoted to division 2 for later in this year. Edinburgh is Edinborg but Dunedin is the same words. Dun is British for fort and burgh is from burh which is old english and borg in Ãslensk is city town or castle. Edin is probably a personal name
THERE is optimism tonight that a deal to secure at least the short-term future of Darlington Football Club will be in place tomorrow. The Northern Echo understands that the administrator has indicated tonight that he is minded to accept a bid from a Yorkshire-based investor, involving a homes and leisure development for the Neasham Road site. There is, however, a remaining obstacle to overcome, with former chairman Raj Singh understood to be wanting to recover the £1.8m he says he is owed if the development is allowed to go ahead. Mr Singh had previously said he would walk away without a penny - but news of the potential development has changed his position. However, negotiations are thought to be underway to come to an agreement that will allow the deal to be accepted by the administrator, who has set a deadline of noon tomorrow to make a decision on the club's future. We believe that the investor is prepared to make a payment of £150,000 to "buy" 10 weeks of extra life for the club so that discussions can continue about how the club can be sustained in the longer term.
wow, that's good news..i hope they can work something out! It sickens me that one of the big clubs..or even a blinkin' player that could easily save the club doesn't step in and just give them some money! A few players together could save them and keep them afloat!
That would be great to see players give their money to struggling teams, it will make them respected more but as usual most are only concerned about themselves.
i know...it's a huge shame when football gives them so much, that they can't give back in some way...i know some do, but most don't seem to...
Morning all from Paris, a bit overcast and chilly not as crisp as yesterday. So what to do today oh yes lunch at the Embassy
When Wrexham were on the edge I always wondered why Robbie Savage didn't step in. He had the money, and was nearly good enough to play at that level.
Morning all from rural France, I am quite surprised at how quickly the overnight cloud has rolled away giving way to a bright sunny morning. The fact that we did have a covered sky overnight meant that there was no frost. Off to Limoges International Aeroport this afternoon to collect eldest daughter and three small granddaughters. It is the first time that they have flown out so I am hoping that the cloud stays away and they can see the countryside from above. The airport is little more than a wartime facility that has in recent times been done up and is well used by people coming down to visit relatives. Having become used to hearing so much French it comes as quite a shock to find yourself with Essex English again.
Góðan daginn til allra. You are all too early for me. Cappuccino, coffee, tea donuts and fruit are on the bar. Frothy cappuccinos for for al, HH, Leon and W_Y Coffees for COYH, Frenchie, Kev rob and theo Strong coffee for Sandy Milky coffee for Yorkie Espresso for SuffolkHorn Strong black coffees for Bragi Norway and zen Black coffee half hot half cold and no sugar for Charlie Tea for BHD jsybaz Lloydinio NZ and BCFCRed Hot chocolate with marshmallows for BBW Tea with skimmed milk and no sugar for GG Tea and cake for Minx Caramel latte for Hornette We have 1C and rain. That is what the weather man said, what was falling looked like snow to me. It is sad for Darlington FC again. This football club does attract bad financial people but they do compete with Newcastle United and Sunderland which can not be easy.
Got to feel for the Darlo fans... As much as it would be a fantastic idea for Prem players to save the club, you hope the smaller teams wouldn't then try and buy their way up the league, and if it all goes wrong, they have that 'back-up' in case they are on the brink! I don;t really know the ins and outs of the Darlo situation with regards to why they are in so much debt, but you look at their stadium and can't help feel a little jealous at how nice it is! Saying that, as a one-off, you wonder if the PFA can't ask the Prem players to dig into their pockets! 20 teams in the Prem, say for example 20 players from each team donate just £500, thats £200k right there! If this can go to the players/staff, that should keep the team ticking over until the end of the season, you'd liek to think! Maybe the PFA should start building an 'emergency' fund, but again, you hope clubs don't take advantage of that and use it as an 'out'
Morning Nesties, dosed up with Lemsip so should make it through the day. Luckily it's a quiet one in the office and I can keep to myself for most of the day (it's nice having the desk in the farthest corner of the building). Will be interested to see what is in store for Darlington today, can't see much hope there I'm afraid. Still maybe Sarries will move into the vacated stadium!!!!
morning all Al, i'm not sure we should be associating with you, you're so posh! ...enjoy your lunch at the Embassy! NNW, so true, tight git! Ooh lovely M Frenchie, have a fabulous time with them thanks for the caramel latte Ak i suppose that's true Kev, i hadn't thought of that, i'm way too trusting! lol but yep, that's all it would take to get them to at least survive...and try and sort themselves out! Oh Sandy! Poor you, feel better soon!
Right, off to the Vic to sort out my Spurs tickets...why does it have to be so complicated! I wish i could just pick the phone up but no, in my case, it's not straightforward...grrr! See you in a bit.... ttfn!
