You guys all seem pretty loyal to the current squad. I have had about 4 saves with Saints now and on everyone by the start of season 2 the only players in the first XI from the original squad are Cork and Lallana. Fox usually hangs around for 1 year as backup and sometimes Fonte, the rest are sold or released. I normally terminate Jos' loan instantly aswell.
If you have Windows 7 you can use Snipping Tool to make an easy jpeg of your screen. Anyway, I'm in Summer 2013, just got promoted, my team looks nothing like the current team.
Supposed to be revising but... Schmeichel Billy Jones Fonte/Zayatte(used to be Hull) Tomkins Fox Lallana Cork Spiderman/Zimling(C.Brugge) Colback?(need a new winger...) Sharp Kozak(Lazio)/Prica(Rosenborg) That's pretty much my whole first team squad apart from a few subs so I think I need a couple more, particularly a winger and left back. Haven't started the season yet though, on a mini-break for "revision". Have some good youngsters though, including an awesome right back who Man City and Chelsea want, think I might stick him in the first team soon.
Definitely best to be loyal. Even if there's a possibility of bringing in players with slightly better attributes, players who have been at the club a long time will most likely produce better performances.
Do things like personal attributes come in to it..? I just thought if i buy better players they'll just outclass my opponents..
Finished 12 th in my first season in the Prem. Bought three players this summer: Wickham from Sunderland for £7.5m+ AO Gary Cahill for £10m And a 17 yr old called Denny Stewart from Blackpool who I will end up paying £17m for coz of add ins etc... Three games done of the season (13/14 season) 1st Newcastle at home - won 4-1 2nd Chelsea away - won 3-1 3rd Morecambe at home CCup, won 5-0 Happy days!
It's pretty complex. There are "hidden" attributes as well, and other things such as chemistry between players who have played together a long time. I got Crewe 3 consecutive promotions by using this approach. My best starting lineup in the Championship still contained 8 of the players who were in my best starting lineup in the Conference. They had all been together at the club from their teens or early 20s and the chemistry was more valuable than any player I could afford to sign. If you looked at the attributes of those 8 players, you wouldn't think they had a hope in hell of staying in the Championship. I finished 8th. Those 8 players were: Oscar Jansson, Brynjar Johannesson (regen), Saul Halpin, Bobby Reid, Nick Powell, Ryan Colclough, James Baxendale, Shaun Miller. Look them up, they're pretty crap individually.
I have taken the approach we have in real life which is only tweak te team a little. I've made two signings for my first season in Prem, and jut bought 3, 1 of which is a future 5star player
In a timeline; Game starts with Saints in Championship (2011/12 season) I bought Andy King from Leicester an that was it for the season. Won Promotion! 2012/13 in Prem Bought Clyne from Palace And Hooper from Celtic Finished 12th! Now in 3rd season (2013/14) Bought Wickham and G. Cahill And currently 1st after 3 games
I am all about bringing in cheap players and making them quality, looking at this does make me think, **** it, just bring in two or three top players, but I just could not do it.
I am just taking a break till the weekend, just sitting around doing nothing when I get home from school, been enjoying buying things on Ebay, but it don't help the PayPal balance.
Oh i see.. I do wonder why i struggle.. with the good signings i bring in.. but fair enough i'l have to just try the one or 2 signing rule.
