With the headlines already grabbed by the NE1 mob over Cisse (I still know **** all about him BTW) and news filtering out of the echo courtesy of Syd the Tweet, that he was never actually on our short list to start with, just who is on our radar now?

Some of the names such as kenwyne Jones and Bobby Zamora are way off the mark and just lazy journalism and would be disasterous ones anyway imo.

A left back maybe and definately a striker are top of our wish list but maybe we will just wait it out until the summer to get Mon's targets, not the ones on Bruces list. This window has, imo, just come to early for Mon. He hasn't had time to really analyse the current playing staff and scout for replacements and additions of his own.

One thing has occurred to me tonight though and it makes perfect sense. If this cisse lad is all that and we didn't even go in for him, does this mean that we already expect Gyan to return in 4 months time now? It makes sense that we don't need this lad Cisse if Gyan is returning and Campbell will be 100% by the summer as well. Wickham will be another season older and maybe Noble will return as well ready to play. Wickham, Gyan, Campbell and Noble would be a decent forward line imo.

I don't feel we are going to be involved in the relegation shake up now and think we could win all 3 of our next 3 home games. We could easily have 30 points and be in the 5th round of the FA cup by the end of the month and be well placed for a decent run in to May. We don't have to panic buy is what I am saying I guess.

I also don't think we need to complete for headlines with the mags and we should keep our powder dry for a summer recruitment campaign. Were playing catch up after a poor start to the season. Theses nothing to gain by blowing the budget in January. Do it in August for me?

Realistic targets could be... Clyne, Zaha, Dyer etc....
MON has a record of nurturing talent.

First things first Cest, Cisse was absolutely 'on our radar', the club can make whatever statement they so wish, I simply don't believe it.

They were hardly gonna come out and say 'yeah, we thought we had him, but we were outdone by the Mags...'.

Not the worlds end though, personally, I could see us moving for Agbonahor, I just have a hunch on this, but most likely, we will look for a loan signing.

Gignac is available for loan, or to buy......

Here's a random thing I was told, and chose to ignore, today, by a lad here.

He reckons we tried to sign none other than Anthony Le Tallec (remember him, loan from Liverpool, like a lost sheep, admittedly the supporting players let him down, badly...) in the summer, but Auxerre knocked us back (and no doubt the lad would have screamed to his last breath...)

    Random.

Was it not your scoop from the echo reporter on Twitter that Cisse wasn't on our hit list?

Anyway, I am honestly unmoved about the lad either way as I simply know bugger all about him. I said this back in the summer when we were linked to him then and 6 months on I am no wiser about him at all.

Think either young and British based or older with EPL experience these are the signings MON likes to make.

Wait for it...........I agree with Cest, I personally think were going to have to wait until the summer and the Gyan situation is sorted out. They will also want to know if Campbell is likely to get back to fully EPL fitness.

Potentially: Gyan, Whickham, Campbell and Noble looks good to me especially with Sess, Larsson and McClean supplying the ammo.

He may have been on Bruces radar and I do believe that btw but my point is was he on O'Neills? Mon will have his thoughts about players and I agree about Agbonlahor as well.

If Mon had fancied this lad Cisse, don't you think Short would have delivered even a bid? Of course if would imo.

I can't be disappointed about not signing a lad I know nowt about. I'd be fairly excited if Agbonlahor was coming as I know all about him.

PS if Bruce was after that useless French puff in the summer, then I'd have burst a ****ing blood vessel shouting for his sacking. Lol

No point in us spending any money in January, got a good enough squad to be mid table which would be fine imo considering our start!

Would rather we dip in to the market in the summer so we dont get our pants pulled down and Gyan is still our player, so what if hes a money grabbing twat, arent all footballers?

Of what ive heard this Cisse fella is good but unproven in the Prem so well see i guess, does show some intent from Newcastle like but hope hes rubbish!

I think Agbonlahor is tailor made, and the fact he plays the wings well could work for us as well.

We haven't been linked or owt, I just have a feeling, MON knows the lad, and he likes pacey players.

£8million or thereabouts, be a good move, IMO.

Completely beyond me as to who if anybody may be genuinely on our radar - for the past few seasons the club has tended to play their cards close to their chest and not given us a lot of clues who they are looking at. That being said as players are returning to fitness I am beginning to think that we may be very quiet in this window, moving more out than we see coming in.

I wouldn't even be concerned if we didn't bring anyone in as long as we don't lose anyone from the first team squad.

I trust MoN and if the right players aint available in this transfer window then why go out and spend for the sake of spending.

I don't know much about that Cisse fella apart from he had a good goalscoring record and he looked like he is a composed finisher from clips on youtube but that doesn't tell all the story. MoN likes to play 1 upfront, can this Cisse lad play upfront by himself or does he need a partner, if so is he strong enough to hold the ball up in the prem for his team mates to get up and support him.

If the answer is no then I wouldn't be suprised if we never bid, we need someone like the other Cisse, Djibril. Somebody who relishes off being the main man upfront on there own, who is big, strong, quick and know's were the goal is.

Pienaar would be a steal if anything under 5m, has South Africa qualified for ACN? Aint seen much of Jelavic

just taken this off a South African newspaper article from yesterday...

That is what he (Redknapp) is saying, but Schillo still wants to leave," says a source.

"All Schillo wants is to play regularly. He wants to go to a club where he will get game time.

"It's been frustrating to sit on the bench or in the stands. I think he might go to Sunderland. They are prepared to meet Spurs' financial requirements," adds the source.

No way mate, the guy wont come here, he has something like 6 kids from 6 different women in the local area. I don't really rate him, loads of pace but not exactly a great goal return. He loves Villa and is on a decent wage their, we would have to break the bank to get him up here.

    Pavyluchenko??

Wants out at Spurs and when he does get games for them he usually scores a few goals.

Would be a good signing IMO, would get atleast 10 a season
