  1. To be fair, though, we have a sight lot better chance of winning it than you do.

Unless the debacle against Swansea was Henry's little teaser before taking you on an unbeaten run, through the rest of the season? It's possible, I suppose, but I very much doubt it.

After a bad result with two games to go it was pointless trying to finish two points behind as the ensuing results didn't alter our league position.

We're not claiming anything, Drogs. We're just disagreeing with your pal, who says that we've got no chance. I'm certainly not saying we'll win it for sure. But, we are in with a shout - a good shout if we can get a decent result on Sunday.

You do realise that you're actually disagreeing with DL, don't you Drogs?
Nothing's near decided yet, so we're clearly still in contention, which he's saying we're not.

I don't think Arsenal will win it either. Even if you have a better chance than us, I still don't think you'll win it - and as we've been reminded in the past, nearly winning something ultimately counts for nothing.

Bottling it is what you do every season at the Bridge :emoticon-0136-giggl

You are completely missing the point, my main point is that in February/March we went from being outsiders for 4th to title contenders. We did this by beating Spurs, United and City are at home.

For Spurs to be title contenders they have to take a major scalp i.e City or United

Everybody is biased, I have praised Spurs many times on this forum.

You are the one constantly on our board spreading your delusions of grandeur <doh>

If you want to abuse people go elsewhere you petulant child <ok>

You wouldn't rule out the possibility entirely though, would you Piskie?
We're currently 5 points behind City and I'm sure that you'd still believe that there's a chance that Arsenal would catch us.
The gap between us is twice as large.

You clearly have a chance and possibly the squad to do it. What you lack is a manager who has the pedigree, knowhow or the belief that it can be done plus 50 years of failed attempts. That's why people are negative to your chances and rightly so. You can only play what's in front of you but now your entering a phase where you have to play other teams with similar aspirations as you and its these games that will indicate whether your team has the required dangly bits for the job. <ok>

The only ones who bottled it last year were the incompetent officials, who somehow couldn't see what everybody else could!

Your players stopped playing did they? I'd be disgusted if I paid to see Spurs and they didn't try.

I agree with District with what he says about waiting until it's 25 games and you've been through this run of tough games coming up. I don't think you'll win the title either and have said City will win it by a long way.

  14. Isn't that what happened to Arsenal at Fulham, during their last game of the season (the one where their captain and idol couldn't even be arsed to show up, but went to watch the Spanish Grand Prix, instead)?

Nobody's saying that we will win it, only that we're still in a position where it's not inconceivable to see it happening.
We're not favourites, by any stretch of the imagination, but as I've already pointed out, the gap between us and City is smaller than the gap between us and your lot.
Virtually all of the Chelsea fans on here don't appear to be able to see the logic of that, for some reason.

I agree the decision to give you the throw in which led to your goal and the decision not to award us a stonewall pen and send Kaboul off was shocking, thankfully the result was not affected and football prevailed over bus parking <ok>

Erm, have you not seen HIAG's comments on our board?!

I accept your 2nd point. But we're going by history and how well we usually do in the 2nd halves of seasons, and also going by how you've done in the 2nd half of your seasons.

For the benefit of the stupid I'll explain we tried to win but the disappointment of getting to within 1 point of the winners then throw it away obviously affected them and they let games slip as a result but all us Chelsea fans understood the situation.

    Everybody hates a smart arse<ok>

No, I don't visit the Chelsea board often.
This thread has reminded me why.

Oh, you're using the Liverpool argument.
    That explains a lot.
Didn't do them much good though, to be fair.
