You have a 40 year old keeper and you are saying a keeper 11 years his senior is getting old <doh>

Of the players you have listed only 2 of those are above 30.

If you look at our strongest possible first XI

    Cech - 29

    Ivanovic - 27
    Luiz - 24
    Terry - 31
    Cole - 31

    Ramires - 24
    Essien - 29
    Romeu - 20

    Sturridge - 22
    Torres - 27
    Mata - 23

Please tell me "many" of our players are "getting old" <doh>

I'll tell you how, by reading what I wrote. I said he is not the player he was, not that he is too old. Lampard and Terry are the ones getting old. 5 years ago Cech was the best keeper in the league but now the injuries have taken their toll and he is unsure in one on one situations, his bottle has gone (understandably).

In general your team is getting old. Not the case with Cech.

    Fair play.

But deep down you must know that we are very capable of overhauling you. The gap is small for Jan

  5. Look, let me draw a line under all of this, for everyone's sake.

Until we have actually won the league every wum and his dog is going to have the ability to take the piss. I think we've got to accept that. At the moment, we are comfortably in 3rd, but with some difficult games up ahead. So what? As SAF once said, every team has to play every other team, so the reality is that we are no more disadvantaged than any other side.

Let's give the wums their day, and remember that it wasn't so long ago that they were wumming us that we'd struggle to avoid relegation <laugh>. Those days seem rather quaint now, but I'd much rather have the Chav and Gooner wums ranting about us not winning the title! The irony is completely lost on them that such wumming is a backhanded compliment.

So, let 'em boil and froth away, lads. Quiet dignity is what we should be aiming for. Let's not fall into the trap of wumming them. We really don't need to.

I wonder what we have to do for the wumming to stop though <laugh> - pretty sure that if we actually won the league this year the wums would say 'it was a fluke.'

Hell, we could win the league every year from now till eternity and we'd still never be title contenders <laugh>

I suggest you take a look at the table. If we're not contenders, then you've got no chance!

We have as much chance as Spurs of winning the league i.e Zero <ok>

City will win it at a canter and anyone that thinks otherwise is deluding themselves <ok>

His point being, you were 15 points ahead, lost to us and ****ed your lead up while we managed to stake a pretty valid title claim after everyone had written us completely off at around this point last year.

I'd like to know this, too.
I'd also like to know why you've quoted a comment from me that's neither and why you've posted on this thread with two different profiles, but that can wait.

Yes, but like I said, we were written off in January yet we still managed to challenge in April/May. Which links to the point District made about Spurs staking their claim for the title in January i.e. it's nowhere near decided yet.

  19. I have to say that I always looking forward to reading the comments of District Line whenever he writes about Spurs because he is far more bitter about our success than any Gooners I have ever encountered. Some of his comments are so completely biased, they are actually hilarious!

So I say, thank you, District Line, for being our little clown <ok>

I think neither of you will win it, so it's a moot point really <whistle>
