I can't believe the reaction over this Cisse Mullarky...We are a team and a club that is undoubtedly on the up with some great results and performances of late...And yet all I see on here is people looking for negatives over a player that I dare bet very few know much about until the last week or so... We have a good young team and a new manager who seems to be getting the best out of them, we have a young forward called Wickham who most experts believe will be a super star in the not too distant future. We have another young forward called Campbell who was showing excellent form before he got injured who is now back in full training. And finally, none of us really know what is going on behind the scenes and what MON has in mind.. For God's sake have a reality check and appreciate all the positive things happening at our club, and try and forget about them up the road eh!!!
Well said RAW. The lad would have been cracking for us, but **** it, we're no worse off than we were. In MON we trust and all that!
I am one of those over reacters but the truth is I am pissed off. You are right in that I dont know about the lad but I do know we need a striker, I do know there are not many around, I do know everyone was very excited about him joining us, I do know many said how good he would be for us and I'm sorry but right now, today, I have no intention of putting on a brave face, I am pissed off, tomorrow, who knows.
Very good point MrRAW... I believe in MoN's judgement, so if the Cisse thingy doesn't come off then so be it. I am sure he will have other targets and whoever he brings in will do a job for us.
Agree with OP. Keep it in perspective lads. MON's comments on the Janaury window suggested he was not hell bent on a signing for a singings sake anyway so I'd suggest whatever business we complete will be limited. Always think the time for reflection anyway is at the end of the window, when we can see the overall impact of the business conducted. I have to be totally honest and say this lad, who may very well be a good player, is way off my personal radar, so who knows, and a deal isn't done until it is done.
I dont know about the other lads but i promise you i wont stir things up by taking papiss. you have my word
When Mon has decided who he wants, and makes his move, then I will get excited. I can't get myself excited about newspaper horse ****e.
Have you guys not already spent a fair amount on strikers this season? Give these guys a season. You are not getting relegated anymore so be patient
MoN is the best signing we'll make in this or any other season, this side of armageddon. The man who wears No 31 has my total faith and backing to do what's right for this club. end of message.
Completely agree Mr.RAW. Over the last six weeks, we've had goals from Larsson, Bendtner, Whickham, Ji, Gardner, Vaughan and McClean. You would have to go back years and years before you'd find another six week spell when we had seven goalscorers. It was pure coincidence that they all screwed up on the same day last Saturday. It was, more than likely, a one-off. It happens. I would like a bit extra from the front lads, but with Campbell close to returning, we're hardly in crisis, are we?
I would've liked Cisse to come here to be perfectly honest. I guess this means we'll be seeing even less of HBA now?
I think you can get some decent players in still, it makes no odds if Cisse was a target for you guys or not. Every team in the world misses out on transfer targets, City tried for Kaka with £100m bid...remember that? Wow, that would have been some flop! Anyways back to what I was saying...Loads of talented players will jump at the chance of signing for your club to play for Martin O Neill. He's pretty decent at building teams too. I reckon you lot have got a budget for him, and unless there's some real value in the market, there's no point spending in January, as many of you have said it looks like you're going to stroll to safety, and next season you can build properly, strategically in an un-rushed manner through the summer months. What Sunderland should be doing this season is gaining momentum, developing morale, assessing who's got what it takes and to quote Biggie, "Separate the weak from the obsolete". Teams can achieve great things with decent morale, look, we took Arsenal apart 8-2 at the beginning of the season, morale was high and we were smashing everything in front of us, now we face them this weekend and I think I'm close to saying I'd take a draw! I wouldn't sign Bendtner though, he looks like he's not interested at all, much better value for wages than that guy.
