Mandy Carroll & £35M

I'm hoping the potential signing will bring an end to journos claiming "Newcastle haven't replaced Carroll". Not only did we replace him with big Demba, whose doing a damn sight better than Carroll at the moment but brought in a new striker as well.

Hopefully this will also end the "fat twat lining his pockets" argument. The £35M is being re-invested in the team, just not all at once and it's being done prudently. Since Carroll left we've brought in -

AC hasnt been used on players, well not transfer fees, as of yet. This Cisse will be the very first one.....its only took 12 months.

Just spoke to a friend of mine who works in the city, this may not be a surprise for you lot I'm sure you hear stuff like this all the time but I thought I'd share it with you anyways.

There's some serious rumours going around the City that big Qatari investors, (possibly the same group who own PSG) in the latter stages of acquiring your football club.

Like I say, even my friend has just described it as a rumour, he's well connected at the top end of the city's financial network so hears a lot of stuff like this. Could turn out to be a good week for you lot if true. Don't shoot the messenger if not though.

 

12 months of hard work, thorough scouting and perfect timing. Could of shelled the same fee on Bryan Ruiz in the heat of the moment but the board refrained, and what a fantastic decision that was, dodged a bullet.

 

Silly idea imo.

We shouldnt give a player that we've brought in from a different league & country the pressure of the no.9 shirt right away.

 

I hear you. However, nobody asked for or wanted the croneys to panic into that Ruiz offer. Was a bit stupid. They had 6 months of scouting up until that point.

 

I'd prefer him not to have No.9....but seeing as it is his number, cant see him not having it. If Martins can have it...................

 

I can't see Cisse getting 9 straight away, maybe 12 or 21.
