Let's hope so, I think a few thousand more will be sold on Saturday.

    Good times at CCFC.

Portsmouth has availability in most areas apart from the family section. Palace has availability in practically every area apart from the away section for that evening. I'd be amazed if either sold out. I reckon just below 24,000 for Pompey, just above it for Palace.

I would hazard a guess, that quite a few of us older supporters on here can remember regular crowds of under 3k in the 80's so to see over 20k on a regular basis is fantastic.

Isawronnie - correct mate. The current attendances are a far cry from those days.

Even in Len Ashurst's promo season in '82/83 when we got out of the 3rd div with Pompey, I think we only averaged about 7,000 through the season. I remember being there for the promo clinching game (Orient?), and only about 12,000 turned up. With the vast majority of us standing, probably about a third capacity at the time.

Can anyone remember Gary Stevens having a scrap with one of our other players, that had to be a pretty low point for me.

"Basil" could never seem to get his legs under control. I've got a feeling him and Ray Bishop often didn't see eye to eye. It might have been him but I can't recall.

I was never a Gary Stevens fan.

I thought Tony Evans & Ronnie Moore were better at that time.

Not true!!! They are very good attendances (I've followed the City when there were only 3,000 of us) - just not going to be as big as the media are writing about, certainly not sell outs. Even today (Thursday evening) there are hardly any sold out sections for either game.

I know I'm a sad old bugger but I can remember regular gates of 30-40,000 in the old lady, and yes of course we were standing. Wouldn't you stand in the presence of john Charles?

Pompey & Palace tickets selling fast ... but still we have hardly any areas sold out for either game, so they can't be selling that fast.
